And Jonathan Bernier reports Bergevin is symptoms free for now at least, now can I laugh?

I think NASH could be looking for some scoring wingers (lol).
they also have the cap space to take a contract, sending only picks and prospects in return.

both. trade them all !! our clown needs 30 picks to hit the target once.

If they make a trade or more it better bring them to a playoff position next year

"It’s hard to watch when the team that was so good for two and a half months in the playoffs falls so flat on its face from the beginning of the season. It’s hard to comprehend."

- MB in an interview with Lebrun yesterday

Is it hard to comprehend?

Seems like a lot of people saw the trainwreck coming before the train even left the station.

Comments like this are why MB needs to go ASAP.

I think a lot of people were expecting a struggle, but not to this extent... I heard many predictions saying they'd either barely make the playoffs or miss them, but to be basically dead last in the league is a bit of a surprise. anyways kudos to you if you had predicted what's currently going on.

Price would have bailed out of town for nothing if Bergevin offered him 8M at the time, I still believe to this day that the moment Subban got traded was the moment Carey mentally checked out, any trust he had that the management could build a contender team around him was gone for good. And who would blame him when your GM decides to trade your #1D and arguably best skater because some divas can't handle his character?

Carey was probably like 'screw these guys upstairs, I'm not going to take a discount this time if they are going to pull more dumb ass moves with the money they would save from my sacrifice. I'm gonna break the bank and let them figure how to deal with the mess'.

Fair enough about the just missing the playoffs... But I think MB was 100% sure they would be in the playoffs.

I'd have rather been wrong... But here we are.

but that's kind of my point, we wouldn't be so much in panic mode if the habs weren't completely out of the playoff picture already by November, and we might have been talking about trades and possible adjustments rather than "no shame for Shane".

anyways, I agree the situation now calls for some drastic changes, and Molson being a no-show is getting tiring AF.

even when healthy, this habs team is not better than

TB
FLA
TOR
BOS

CAR
WASH
PIT
NYI
NYR

they would fight with the others for the 10th spot, far from a playoffs spot.

I said they were gonna be bad, not as bad as they have been, but also not realistically close to a playoff spot.

exactly, time to move on and if not a rebuild, some major changes need to be made. starting at the top.

if Habs win a few games and multiply their playoffs chances by 10....
they would still only have a 2% chance of making it (now at 0.2%) lol

maybe I'm missing something, but if you look at the hockey operations team the habs have compared to what Pittsburgh have in place for example, it sure looks like MTL should definitely add to their staff...

if the penguins had put the god damn pictures like the habs did it probably wouldn't fit on one page lol. there's no salary cap for the coaching staff, and the habs could definitely afford to hire specialized coaches for things like skating and skills development... technically speaking they should have one of the best hockey ops team in the league.

me thinks he's gonna have to dish out a bit more money from the millions he's making if he ever wants his team to win. I don't doubt his willingness but you have to wonder why after all these years it hasn't already been addressed.
