Who's that?

- JRR1285

He’ll show up tonight when Bailey gets a secondary assist to tell everyone how stupid they are.

Imagine getting paid millions to play a game the leaving all of that money on the table because you were an immature dolt then reflecting on it as an adult?
- Cptmjl

It was mind numbing watching that play out here. We had fans/posters blaming management because they were inline with what he was saying. No amount of sense could convince some of them that he just needed to stfu. The only thing I care about is whether a player on the team I root for can play hockey. Their personal opinions/beliefs don't matter to me.

Man, the crap I said in my youth, and actually do sometimes say now, I'm glad there was no internet when I grew up.

Ahh yes, politics. The great divider. Some people just feel that they have to be right and you should believe what they believe. If not, they'll try to beat you into submission with constant pestering. People have different beliefs and different thoughts. Plain and simple.

There probably would have been a #Lockihimupandthrowawaythekey movement.

It's happening everywhere. I come here to talk hockey, not about other current events. I left social media over the same poop. I almost quit here as well.

Yeah, I know. I try not to get too involved in that. Try to stay above the fray, if you will. I'll state my opinion, and if you don't like it, oh well. I'm not gonna waste a lot of my life trying to convince you that, say, Chara should be first pairing. (No, I don't think that. It's just for the point I'm trying to make)

I've come to terms with it. I know that Deangelo is killing it on the points end but right now Trouba is absolutely murdering people while simultaneously putting up some points as of late. In a perfect world Trouba makes less money but I am trying to appreciate what he brings.

Agreed. Some people take it way too far and ruin it for everyone else.

This team had an incredible chance to get much better this summer. Instead we got older and slower. The fact that defenseman like Seth Jones, Dougie Hamilton, and Tony DeAngelo were signed and We signed a 50 year old Chara is just idiotic. Instead of allowing Seattle to take Leddy or Bailey we made moves to allow them to takea 31 year old Eberle and then signed a 37 year old Parise is just idiotic. (not going to even bother with the Palmieri/ Hall debate.. Hall's better.. much better. period).
- niteislander

We traded Leddy before the expansion draft and we absolutely allowed them to take Bailey. They chose Eberle instead. We didn't have the cap space to sign Jones or Hamilton and Lou was never signing DeAngelo.

Isles won 11 of 28 road games last year and things worked out pretty well, everyone needs to relax

They'll hopefully come home 6-5-2 from a road trip that wiped out about 1/3 of their total road games for the season. They always play significantly better at home and I'm sure they'll be fired up to have a new home to play in.

Bringing this over from other thread:

Regarding Aho, I realize he’s played in the NHL, but it’s been a while. Anyone remember Barzal’s first NHL gsme!? Gets a penalty, about to step out of the box and plays the puck from the box…stays in the box to serve another penalty. 😂😂

Not sure when, but gotta give Aho another shot? Need a 7th dman who can give guys a rest. Prob playing him against the Boltz wasn’t the best time to give him a spin. Fire Barry.

Honestly the entire team hasn’t been good. Gotta get the win tonight and reset for the homestand.

- streaks

Difference is imho , Barzal was 18 his first game and played no games in any professional league against men where as Aho is 25/26 years old. Has played in the Sweden in their elite league against men and also played ~30 NHL games. I just honestly think he’s to small and his skill set doesn’t make up for it like some other smaller D men in the league. I hope he proves me wrong. I truly hope his benching gives Dobson a wake up call.
I agree the team hasn’t played their game in whole and hope they get it together once the schedule includes some home games Hate to use it as an excuse but it has to suck starting the season with a trip/s like this.
Tonight would be a nice way to end the trip with a win against The Cats who are playing well.
