Those 2 are soft as melted butter and part of the problem.
Until Canucks Management wake up and realize that you need skilled sturdy guys, then this team wheel just continue to spin its wheels, for another decade.

Fire JB and TG/staff (minus Shaw and Clark)

Pres: ? Gilman ? No idea for candidates
GM: Chris MacFarland
Coach: Boudreau or Lane Lambert

Trade JTM at deadline or in off-season for younger RHD
If season a complete tank/his season is poop trade Boeser for younger forward help/picks/RHD
Use some of that money to sign vet RHD like Manson

McFarland seems like an interesting option.
I know nothing of the guy, but I like what Sakic and Colorado have done.

Redeploy JB to head scout.

I've only read what few articles there are out there that he's mentioned in, but he seems like a really strong candidate coming over from a very well run team.

I doubt most teams are going to let the Canucks hire an asst GM in season though.

It looks like Canucks are stuck this season with Benning. Green is whatever but unless FA is going to hire the next coach and force the next GM to use him.

Interm tags all around and hope it gets better

True – not sure how that would work? Maybe have it lined up to hire him in the off-season? I don't know the ins and outs of hiring an AGM from another team.

Maybe getting Boudreau or Blysma on a 2 year deal will suffice. Gives the new GM a year to evaluate the coach and then make changes if he sees fit.

Keep Benning until years end if so but Green needs to go now I think. Deal with whatever happens after. Let Shaw run it and just say to Ian Clarke here...you are running the Defence too plus goaltending. Can't be any worse lol

A good option IMO. Players obviously want a new voice something needs to happen. Hartley could be looked at too.

Both those guys run a more high-octane/high-pressure offense and helped Ovi and Sid a lot. I think having one of them for EP and Hughes to run the team would be a decent add especially as a proven NHL coach, at least in the short term.

It doesn’t, they can’t even discuss it. If he is under contract for additional years, TML probably still doesn’t give permission to discuss. On top of all that, Gilman was one of the dissenting voices in the room which was a big part of the reason for his departure. I don’t believe he would touch an Aquilini led Canucks team with a one million foot pole.

Thought he was referring more to the Avs AGM. I don't know who would/would want to step into a Pres role for the Canucks. Don't have any names out there – I just put out Gilman for a throwback.

What I would say is that anyone who has already seen behind the curtain of Aquilino/Benning’s puppet show wouldn’t be a candidate. Anyone who knows people well enough to get honest answers would keep moving. These are going to be difficult positions to fill.

I think he’s doing a pretty decent job but fan and ownership pressure/impatience is overwhelming right now, he needs a buffer

You're an idiot, the teams been mismanaged for the better part of eight years now and they're headed for another two or three years of continued misery when Horvat and Miller leave #troll

Edit: yes some good things have been done, however, at the end of the day, the team is still losing....and that's the bottom line.

The complexities of hiring someone willing to put up with the controlling ways of ownership is going to be a HUGE issue. Rumors are Dean Lombardi told them (Aquilini's) to go fly a kite a few years back when they apparently approached him about working for the organization.

Yup. Wondering if the ownership hierarchy is going to look the same coming out of this – ie. if Francesco will have as much autonomy as he does now. This whole circus might be hurting the brand and valuation of the team. Couple that with if competent GMs and Presidents say they won't work for them because of FA, and maybe there's some family pressure on him to ease off his handsiness

I obviously am not privy to the inner workings of the organization, but, with what's been reported I think he has to relinquish complete control or nothing will really change. Even a pig with lipstick on is still a pig....if you know what I mean.

Thank you for restating what I just said in a much more easily digestible format.

With you being an upper management type it’s sometimes hard for the boys to distinguish what your actually saying, I just thought I’d put it in simplified terms

Yep I like it. Green has hit his brick wall and to salvage Hughes-Petey-Boeser and even Demko's development at this point is priority. JTM and Bo would benefit huge from experienced coaches especially Bo who needs leadership training badly. Short term is good and can evaluate after.
