Yzerman has been there 2.5 years. Seider looks better than Raymond and Raymond looks great.

I think that team has a really bright future.

Buffalo waiting a year before Power makes his NHL debut will benefit Buffalo imo. Seider looks really good and he’s huge, just like Power.

Your praise has been "drafting that high for that long, team is bound to improve"
- manvanfan

just looking for an argument tonight? Detroit looks better than expected because they just have been thus far, not because I willed it lol. In eight drafts Benning only has one defenceman on the team, Quinn Hughes, I think the Canucks need to start building the defence from within and start over again, kinda like what Buffalo is doing….whuddo you think?

Van had calder finalists for many straight years. Look where Van is now 🤣
- manvanfan

That's one way of looking at it. Another is to compare Seider/Raymond with JV/OJ.

Maybe that's why Yzerman is getting praise.

The Nashville route. Draft and develop defence and build outward. Use them as trade chips if you don’t have a spot for them all.

Maybe Benning has nude pics of Aquilini and has a job for life. Maybe they all agreed at the beginning of the year the plan was to get Shane Wright?

Boy would I be in trouble with all the times I’ve been nude in public if cell phone cameras were a thing in the 80’s

I’d hang onto Pettersson and Hughes, those kids are ultra talented and great draft picks, everything else can go.

I'd be tempted to trade one depending the return.

I’d trade Pettersson before Hughes but you need both defencemen and centers to build around in the league.

I don’t think EP will ever be an upper echelon C, Hughes will never be a #1 D.

That’s why I’m open to trading either depending on the return.

Besides, neither is very physical even among their offensive peers. To me, that’s concerning come crunch time.

They’re both excellent young talents but they’re both also limited. Bo is still our best hockey player.

Hughes produces offensively from the blue line, not an easy thing to find. To me he doesn’t have to be both Paul Coffey and Charlie Huddy in the same player. Be responsible defensively and get your 60 points, that’s a big win for the organization in my opinion.

Pettersson is a great player but he’s either a center or not, the organization needs to stop (frank)ing with him and be one or the other. I think he’d look good in Ottawa if they’re willing to trade Geoff Sanderson’s kid and a first or second round pick.

I'm still open to trading either. I think EP could be a top #2 C but he probably wants to be paid like a #1 and he'll probably produce like one from the 2nd slot with a proper 1C.

I'm fine having a guy like Hughes on the team as well. Like you said, elite point production from the back end is hard to find. I don't think he's been defensively sound though.

I guess if you want to exclude anything relevant you could go that direction.

How about Rutherford brought in as team president to help JB?

Miller is the 1st guy I'd look at trading.

A team that feels they're ready now adding a vet ppg player for 1.5 years at a good contract will give up a substantial return.

Benning clearly can't draft defence. I wouldn't want him too. He needs to be fired because he didn't fire Green.

Those are the guys Yzerman picked with 4th overall and 5th overall. I showed you 2 guys we selected at 6th overall and 5th overall in JB's first 2.5 years.

Seider looks like he could become better than any player on our team.
