If you must know - it's a strategy to create a barrier (small though it may be) to the movement of the puck into the net.

doesn't matter, with the NHL's new soccer rules you can just push it in with your skate.

it feels like the antithesis of what a goal in hockey is supposed to be... hopefully it's just one of these annoying beginning-of-the-season trends, it would be sad to see this poop during the playoffs.

They won't change. The league loves these open to interpretation plays so the game can be manipulated according to the game situation.

Look at danault's goal vs the leafs. In what world is that a redirect and not a kick?

I missed last night's game, they'll never confirm anything but chances are Allen has a concussion...? and what's wrong with Hoffman now? jfc.

He's taken out of the line up as precaution for the trade deadline maybe?

Now this is like watching the Rocket but with a better image in the broadcast.

generally speaking I'm in favor of allowing more goals rather than denying them, but I think they need to look at situations where an opponent is very close to the goalie but doesn't really touch him... the trend right now for refs is to overprotect goaltenders all the time, they have yet to apply a reasonable middle ground. those blatant intentional skate deviations are simply an eyesore.

they're not tanking, they're just really bad. and injured.
tanking would be trading vets.

whether it's intentional or not, the end result of their poor play has been a tank job so far.

unless you're wearing a habs jersey...

I'm being sarcastic but I do feel those goals are denied 99.9% of the time, even when the player in front of the goalie doesn't really affect his mobility or prevents him from making a save.

I was expecting a severe beating against the flames, and I was pleasantly surprised, so I have no expectations whatsoever. gotta admit though that the injury situation for this roster is pretty unreal lol
