In regards to Simmonds, Keefe noted that Wayne's role has been reduced a bit this season (not on the PP, for example) ... plus, they liked how Kirill Semyonov performed in his NHL debut on Wednesday

Ya I heard that. Sounds like ownership took it personal with him. They didn’t want to retain any money because they didn’t want to have any ties to him.

Also I read that his disc was a mess when they replaced it. Sounds like everything went well with the surgery he wanted. Seems like a dumb move by sabres treating it personal instead of keeping it to business.
