Re Dylan Strome (from Pope): News Flash - It wasn't just Colliton who thinks he needs a lot of work.

Strome, in particular, is entering a make-or-break stretch.

His defensive play has never been great. He ranked last among Hawks forwards last season by allowing 1.03 opponent shot attempts per minute at even strength, and that average has increased to 1.14 this season. Lately, his offensive production hasn’t been much better. He has just one point — an assist — in seven appearances, and he didn’t record any shots on goal Sunday or Tuesday.

His misuse and distrust under Colliton almost certainly affected his mental readiness, which provides a valid excuse for his struggles then. But that excuse no longer applies.

“He’s got to get used to working without a puck,” King said. “When he does have the puck, he can make some stuff happen. But when you don’t have it is when we need everybody to start working harder.”

Realistically, if everyone is healthy, does Kalynuk get in the starting lineup? Would he be able to replace either Stillman or C. Jones? If it is not a notable upgrade over those two, I think they leave him down to get minutes. Obviously, this is IF everyone is healthy, but he doesn't have to pass through waivers and can get a ton of time in RFD.

Gus will be in, get 8 minutes, but is being used for the point on PP2, no one else (except Kalnyuk) fits the bill, unless you want Connor Murphy

That’s a really low bar.

In practice doing the right thing doesn’t enter the equation. This is a money grab. But how can that be proven?

As for sweeping it under the carpet, had McDonough notified the police at the time there wouldn’t be a secondary victim. So I’d argue yes it was not handled properly once Management was aware of the situation.

What’s more sad than Beach being sexually abused is Beach and his lawyers using the guise of being sympathetic to other sexually abused people when it’s not about that at all.

I will not presume to know Beach's motivations or why he did what he did or did not do following the assault, although I can empathize. I highly doubt he was faking the emotions about feeling guilty when he found out JD2 had been assaulted. Remember when he started this thing, he came in as someone to support JD2's case and said he didn't want any money. Who knows how many have been pressuring him and manipulating him for their own gain (Pulitzers, cash, spotlight, etc.). Speaking of...

His attorney, on the other hand, in no way should be viewed as on the side of victims. What she did with the R. Kelly underage victims - quickly and secretly processing NDA after NDA without ever bringing it to authorities - actually helped R. Kelly to continue his crimes.

So, sure, Westhead, Powers, and every other journalist publishing her statements and claims with no context (e.g., this is what always happens in civll cases where loss of income is part of the claim), keep helping her try her case in court of public opinion and rachet up those fees.

What Aldrich did to Beach was terrible, that guy needs to be put away for awhile. Not sure this has been mentioned, but did Beach put himself in a bad situation? Well, playing strip poker with Aldrich present I would say yes. I don’t believe that this will go to trial, it will e settled out of court, but if it does go to trial you know that Rocky has multiple attorneys under his wing, and you can take it to the bank that the strip poker scenario will come into play. That’s it for me on this subject….

Lol... she is certainly on a contingency fee agreement. This is pretty text book lawyering aim for the highest amount and then work your way down. If he turned into a top line power forward Beach probably makes 60-100 million. No good attorney is going to start off by claiming his/her client would have been a bottom 6 forward who was out of the league in 4 years.

Nothing to see here honestly.....it is just posturing by the attorney. I am not passing judgment on Beach b/c his attorney demands the maximum amount he could have earned. Just like I don't get mad at players b/c of their agents. Those are business decisions just like this is a legal decision. Players let the experts who are paid to do a job do that job.

From what I have seen of Stillman, he deserves to be on the ice over Gus and De haan, he’s been pretty steady to my eyes, not sure about his analytical stats.

I didn’t suggest, nor do I think Beach was faking his emotions. And his lawyer is in it for the money under the guise of being sympathetic to sexual victims.

If Beach gets a significant settlement and doesn’t give more than a token donation to a sexual victims charity, what will you think then?

Kyle Beach will make more money now than he ever would have playing hockey. We all know that's what will happen. No need to keep this topic going one post longer. Anyone who thinks the Blackhawks need to be held accountable by keeping this subject alive are being naive and should start with every other business in the country as well.

I don't fault her tactics, but I also don't view her as any benevolent angel for victims everywhere.
