While McD's hands may be the dirtiest, what are you gonna charge him with? While all those involved may be guilty of extremely poor judgement, if there was no direct accusation or charge of sexual assault from the victim, only harassment, then there's not much to charge.

I wonder how Cooper got the respect of the vets on his team?

Q had things he liked his teams doing

Their backchck was relentless

Ever notice with his (cup) teams - whenever that puck got within 2 feet of their own blueline, it always got out. Small play, but forced the other team to regroup. Always won that battle. Guarantee it was an emphasis.

Possessing the puck. A trademark for them would be to hold it D to D to make passes for regroups and line changes. How many Keith to Seabrook regroups you remember? You may think they didn't mean much...but it was a discipline to it.

Or guys like Shaw, Kruger would eat pucks in the O zone along the boards? Why? Just because? Or because it was a possession game he wanted.

Its coaching that implements those small practices and drills them to his players. The singular 'system's you play will change as a game/season dictates

But a coach implements those things) holds his players accountable - and puts them in the best position to succeed

- PatShart

They yielded the blueline less readily last night too and were able to make more plays in the neutral zone.

That POS is the one most deserving of an infected anal fissure in the whole mess, but he's the one that got off easiest.

Any suit against McD would be covered by the Blackhawks that's SOP.

Torts says he wants to get back into coaching. What do you all think for him next season coaching the Hawks?

You'd have to dump the whole team; Torts doesn't tolerate lavender sniffers.

Fair point, however Toronto wants more for Dermott than we’re likely willing to give. Unless they want Strome with salary retained in exchange for a similar contract. Can’t see Davidson giving up futures with us already missing the 1st next year.

Jones, McCabe, Murphy(played 27 minutes last night), and Stillman all signed to multi year contracts, then you have Kalynuk, Mitchell, C Jones, Phillips, Beaudin, plus others coming along. Unless they are acquiring a stud defenseman, no sense in going after one via trade right now. Gus and De Haan are just about out the door. Dermott is not very good, and he has a $1.5M cap hit by the way.

Just one game...the new coach seems to know where and how little to use Gus. DeHaan will be gone after this season. I wouldn't be surprised if Murphy is able to remove his head from his backside with JC gone.

Dermott's salary isn't breaking the bank and if he's any good, I don't see why the Leafs would want to part with him.

Thanks, Theo for the sound byte play-by-play. Sorry if I missed this in the blog / comments, but I wish folks could take a look at the Kane / Toews presser with the same detail.

First reporter Question is about the coaching situation - JT, the Capt. Our capt. The longest serving capt in Hawk history, perhaps NHL? defers to Kane to answer the question?!?!?!?!? Why? Kane proceeds to be very charitable to Colliton.

Later in same presser a reporter directly asks JT about the coaching situation, etc - JT responds - "Are you asking me? Can you repeat that? I guess I don't grasp that," etc....the gives a deflection answer....

WHAT?

Me thinks more to the story....What do you think?
