Strome played tonight like he had a piano lifted off his back

Pretty common (something like 30%) of long COVID sufferers do have cognitive issues. Would not surprise me, but would make me sad.

Definitely does not seem like himself. To me, he seems very angry and defensive these days, but then with everything that is happening, can't say I blame him. He's always been terrible at hiding his feelings.

Same here, he was like zoned out, asked the reporter to repeat the question.

There is something definitely wrong with Toews, Captain No So Serious...He looks dazed, a deer in a headlight...can not finish the play and out of gas..Playing like he is carrying extra 15 lbs.
- shidler

You mean 215 lbs, his name is Carpenter

I liked the Derek King press conference. You can’t fake humility and folks respond to that in a leader.

He's just getting back after not playing for a year, and had an immune system issue. I'm sure he's not back in hockey shape and still trying to get his legs under him. On the Hagel goal, he made the play, but got knocked off the puck before sending it back to Jones. We've not seen that much in his career.

Maybe by the end of the year, he'll get there, but I wouldn't expect the typical Toews this year.

Misleading.

He thought the question was for Kane, so he didn’t hear THE FIRST PART of the question - that’s what he asked for a repeat on.

Let’s not play doctor here.

Altho I did play doctor for Kane last season, speculating about him having some kind injury before he came out and admitted to it in the summer.

It's just an observation, he even then made a comment, something along the lines of not really understanding his question?

No, no, no… the narrative here tonight is that Kane is slow and Toews is in cognitive decline. Get with the program.

As I recall, he said (paraphrasing somewhat): “Was that question for me? Could you please repeat the first part?”

Seems like a genuinely nice guy who tries to lighten things up with humor. Hope the team continues to respond to him. He clearly already "read the room" and determined that they just needed to play without a lot of instruction tonight, and it worked.

Just wait until he accidentally praises Carpenter. This place will throw him under the bus so fast, it' not even funny.

WILD THING

Wild score four against Varlamov to beat NYI 5-4
I want to see how much more potent is Wild if Boldy is ready to contribute (currently injured)

DRAFT CHOICE

The pleasure to draft first overall if teams hols their seeding after the lottery

1) Arizona
2). Chicago

From Blackhaeks old theme song (updated)

Take the attack
We'll back you [King]
Let"s go you Hawks
Let"s go

* not checking to see if this is the actual exact wording

ALSO

So King used similar or same system in Rockfird. And Icehogs badly outshot, surrendering 40 + shots common early going this season. They had some bad dmen, like Krutl. So that is a common denominator with the defense for both teams. However, King will (already seems) to be better re even than Colliton.

But this interesting caveat during the King introduction.....that he expects good hard effort and he will hold them responsible.

UNDENIABLE

sure Strome played hiw you want to see him play LAST NIGHT. He may even keep up the same way insofar as he wants to do what it takes to remain in lineup

Truth is....do you expect him to do just that on long term basis. Irrelevant in final analysis because I want young Icehog whom naturally plays a physical brand and skates better. Let us hope the new Strome keeps up the show me performance........Just so we can secure a 3rd round. Yes, take a #3 and be happy. Oh BTW in Rockford victory Sunday Reichel had a hatty. Slavin and Reichel deserve call up this season. If Entwhistle is injured, take a look at Barret, not R Johnson. Carpentar just release him. If possible give him away so we don't owe salary cap space on him. Altybarmaken I would love to see him have a role with Chicago. But maybe he is not ready

I would like an update on Kaiser. Added strength or size?
