I feel bad for Brookbank. Seems like a good dude who the players like. Had to make a clean sweep though.

Yeah, also brought up maybe a tad too early. He was the defensive coach if I'm not mistaken, so had to go.

Wasn't Mitell the one in charge of the special teams? Those were the only bright spot this year so far.

Huge news of course with the Colliton firing. I’ll have a full write up in the AM tomorrow.

Overall I’m fine with the changes including King as the interim.

His son is the video guy (not that video guy) so he might want to stick around and they may just let him.

Got toxic in a hurry down there and JC had nothing to do with that. But the record speaks for itself. So good luck to him down the road.

I could’ve gone either way with Brookbank but would’ve reassigned him as AHL assistant coach if retained.

Glad Mitell got the boot along with Colliton. Mitell seemed like an extension of Colliton and was only here because of him.

You guys have Crawford on the staff still but name someone else as interim. I hope the absolute worst for the poopcago (frank)hawks

Only took 11 years for the sex assault scandal to come to light. (frank) Kane that rapist cabbie beating (frank)wad. Someone needs to go knee to knee on him and ruin his career

Yes, Hawk hatred is in my blood.

I loved watching Belfour explode after Janney scored the game winner after a collision with Hull

So, Rockford watchers, are we in for more of the same? Seem to be a lot of IceHogs fans celebrating that King won't be their coach anymore.

Please give me some hope.

- pdx2ord

Don’t know why Hogs fans are rejoicing King not being their coach anymore. His systems were by virtue of what Colliton was teaching so let him change the systems to ones that work and make better sense given the player personnel.

Plus some fans don’t realize that King’s coaching record is more extensive than Colliton’s albeit in the minors.

Also, King had a more illustrious NHL career than Colliton (and by a huge margin) so that has to count for something or a lot.

Haha glad we still live rent free in your head, Kane is better than any player in your organization’s history. He also was exonerated for the rape case. Keep crying

Thanks, Theo

Hoping his own systems will give the team the structure they clearly need in order to perform

Brookbank had to go. He had no coaching experience and that back end has been a disaster all of the time he has their coach.

Bring in that boring old fart Jacques Martin and you"ll see a much better organized defence group and development of some of the kids like Mitchell, Phillips, Beaudin, Galvas and Kalynuk. It is critical for the organization to make a few of these guys NHL players.

And I a big fan of Rick Dudley as a birdog for young talent. But he may be retired now.

A little trapped in the past, bud. Not a bad place to visit once in a while. We still slap our knees with glee, reflecting upon Backes' inability to get out of the way of a freight train.

The 3 year Jeremy Colliton experiment is 100% on Stan. As I've expressed here since the hiring, JC was not ready to be an NHL head coach. The facts:

Never was a HC or assistant in Canadian Juniors
Never a HC or assistant in the NCAA
Never an assistant in the AHL
Never an assistant on an NHL staff

Stan, in an attempt to be the smartest guy in the room, plucked him out of a 4 year stint with Mora, in a Swedish Tier 2 league, and made him the HC in Rockford. He didn't have a good regular season in Rockford, finishing 4th in their division. They made a run to the AHL finals riding hot goaltending and a few guys sent down from the Blackhawks to help.

When he replaced Q, he was nowhere near ready to take the helm of an NHL team, especially one that won 3 recent Stanley Cups and had a locker room full of future HOFers.

It wasn't' hard to predict the JC would fail. The hard thing to understand is why he was put in that position in the 1st place. Now Stan and JC are both gone, and 3 years have been wasted.

As Duncan Keith wisely said, the NHL isn't a developmental league. Duncan was correct.

Aren’t you a pos for bringing up the injury of a decent hard nosed player. No true fan wants that so I guess you are not a true hockey fan you (frank)ing poopbag

At least I brought up a pos scumbag individual who assaulted and robbed a cabbie while drunk and raped a woman

You bring up a dirty hit on a vulnerable player. Good job

So is Campbell out?

They specifically mentioned retaining Kunitz in player development, but not Campbell? Does he work mostly with Rockford?
