Not at all and mostly agree. Doesn't change the fact that no matter where Colliton misplaces Strome he can't win a board battle.
- HawkintheD

Totally agree with ya D!
I understand the argument to have Strome in the lineup but when he plays like he wants out and doesn't care keep his a$$ out of the lineup and that can be said bout the entire team with their efforts....

Bruce Boudreau to the rescue. Book it.

He will bring humour for the media, a distraction to the Kyle Beach issue, jokes about his bald head and furnace face when he gets ticked off. (And getting ticked off will start 10 seconds into the first shift of the first game).

I'd rather have a younger guy like Tocchet- who I don't think is on their radar

He has both head and assistant NHL jobs

He'll hold players accountable and they won't cheat shifts

He also understands how to coach star/veteran/NHL players and will immediately get their respect

Whether he can be long term would depend on the teams play...but I wouldnt mind him

This club is not going anywhere this year.....Its time to reload....Keep Dcat, Jones and Hagel....Then house sale on everything else including coach, gm and players....This includes softie Kane and captain no so serious....Will not be watching any Hawks game wasting my nights....rather watch Netflix...Its humiliating and demoralizing.

I'd be ok if Danny hired Eddie to be the President to oversee everything

Let him keep Davidson as interim GM and assess him. All moves go thru Eddie.

Not that he has any experience with it but those 2 together (Davidson with financial and Eddie with eyes/experience) should be able to handle it until years end.

Hire Tocchet as Eddie and he have a connection and they can find a GM they both can work with - either Davidson or from the outside

I am tired of seeing 6 foot 4inch guys doing the fly by! how many missed opportunities are there for guys to finish there checks! They can not play a puck possession game anymore they don't have the skill. As for our defense men I don't we are that bad could we be better yes. and by do I miss Corey Crawford

Olczyk is not the answer. I agree if they want to keep Davidson he can shuffle paper. They need a fresh FO with the ability to build and then maintain a solid hockey operation.

I don’t think tocchet is the answer, in fact to get back to respectability it may 2 or 3 coaches, BB might be one of those in the initial stages but he has shown to have a short shelf life. I would not be interested in any of the other retreads out there such as Babcock, Hitchcock, Torts, etc. as they are over rated in my opinion. this is a tire fire, it will smolder and stink for a long time, and require mote than a single person to extinguish it

Except Eddie is an answer because-
1) The Hawks brand is zero
2) He is a National NHL Name
3) He connects with the local fanbase to attempt to bring them back/will try to win them back
4) He's had eyes all over the NHL covering games exclusively for how long now?
5) He has a good report/reputation with the NHL front offices and other teams/executives

I think he would want to take it seriously as a different challenge in his caree/life.

Once an athlete always an athlete that wants challenges

If he wants to do it, it may be a good fit

President of a company (which is what the position is) is not a PR position, or a figurehead, or just overseeing the organization.

The president sees that the proper people are in place, and that the proper procedures are in place and are being followed. The president makes sure that the company has good, effective communication, coordination, and cooperation between the various department. The new president of the Chicago franchise must be able to build an organization, and maintain it.

Except for playing and TV-commentating, Olczyk has no organizational experience, no experience with running anything, let alone a whole company. If you think experience in these areas isn’t important for a president, you haven’t spent much time in any kind of organization.

Hmm. Interesting that they must have that background because in the athletic world, it's not like that hasn't or doesnt happen

McDonough was making hockey decisions. On ice calls on trades and coaching hires.

How much hockey experience was in his life prior to be handed full control over all Hawk hockey personnel?

Wiz writes incredible scouting on players

Not just BS...but actually how they move, read plays, potential, etc.

Of course, he'd be the first to tell you its not perfect

But does anyone think McD could spend a year of his own time doing what Wiz does?

Yet he was in full control as Pres of the Hawks.

But Eddie would be incapable of doing it - or hiring/putting the people in place around him to want to be successful?

McDoough was a brand guy...not a hockey guy..He wanted to brand Blackhawks with excellence and morality....I remember when Kane had legal issues, they were very close to getting rid of him....Well, so much for our branding...It is now synonymous with anything but excellence after Kyle Beach fiasco and worst team in the NHL....

And if anyone doesnt think that IF merely just putting the name Eddie Olczyk in the front office can stop some of the financial bleeding I'm sure the Wirtz's are feeling on the ice, in the attendance and in the media....

Well you may not know the name Wirtz

They have to be getting killed financially through this

Brand guy that was making hockey decisions for this organization. He was allowed to control that part of the team with zero experience

John Davidson'l left the booth

Went out and found a guy like Jarmo as a GM he works closely and well with

They can hire Eddie and let him do the same. Find a GM that can control that part of the team. It can be a new/up and comer... but he can go out and use his years and connections to find the right one

Hire Eddie as full on President
Somehow get Rick Dudley as GM
Hire Tocchet as coach

Dudley is 72...but knows his stuff. He can assess the hell out of talent and organizations. Let him figure out who stays and goes the next year or two - and help Eddie find/groom/mentor the next best GM.

Then Dudley can get the Scotty Bowman paycheck of Senior Executive VP of Operations and Community Services....

Tocchet at that time will be 2-3yrs in and the new GM would figure out if he stays or goes. But Rick will get honest efforts out of players and respect out of the vets. (See Phil Kessel)

The Hawks will have money to spend...especially if they make the right moves here

It sounds like Blackhawks company structure has been updated by McD.

Winning helps marketing and they really need to focus on bringing hockey minds in here. I was all for giving JC a chance but its time to pull the plug. His theory/concept either doesn't work or isn't getting through to the players. Either way its an indictment on the coach.

I'm tired of seeing our dmen on the wrong side of the puck consistently. Love to blame the goalie but when most times no player between the goal scorer and the goalie, i just can't.

Each game he's been in, Strome has taken a stupid, stupid penalty. His professional value right now is at his career low.
That being said, you cannot fire the entire team, especially as how you have recently fired the entire leadership of the organization. Except for one piece, the head coach. I (we?) all would have much preferred Colliton to have been successful.
The next move, hopefully before 6 pm tomorrow night, should be to relieve Colliton of his duties.

Edit: It literally does not matter who replaces him.
