The problem last night was IMO due to the fact the Flyers players were concerned about entering a cesspool of Covid infection...anyone remember what happened last year after playing the Devils who were rampant with infection?
I would lay $$ that more Pens are going to be on the protocol list and those summabeaches infected some of our players
As to the OT goal, if his pad was pushed in by the Pens players stick the goal should not have counted. If he moved the pad on his own, so be it.
It was another Bettman gift though. |

I'm patiently waiting for you to provide the facts on why the issue with the team is Giroux's leadership. All you're offering is an opinion and trying to use anecdotal evidence to try and support it. My patience has run out with this absurdity. - MJL
Where is there my opinion in “bringing in multiple gm’s, coaches, players, veterans, leaders lol. Again, I can’t make you understand what is fact or not |

So then if it's an interim coach, Sutter or Trotz wouldn't be the next coach. I just see it as reasonable that when discussing a new coach for the Flyers, the list of possible candidates wouldn't include two coaches currently employed with other teams.
I mean I think the Flyers are getting Jon Cooper. I also think they're getting Connor McDavid. I mean it's possible right? - MJL
I'll say it again very simple. After AV, I would like Trots or Sutter to be the head coach. It's a simple opinion of who I would like at the helm. I'm sure a lot of people have an opinion on who they would like as a coach. Do you not have a coach you would like to see take the helm next? You are a fan correct?
The bolded part is just ridiculous, exaggerated and childish attempt to antagonize. I never said anything close to that and believe your just trying to start argument.

You're right, since you don't seem to have a grasp on the facts, how could you possibly make someone else understand what is fact or not. I think the fact that you think you have shown that it's a fact that Giroux's leadership is the problem, is the actual problem here. It's called correlation without causation. |

Yea, I want to see Jon Cooper as the next Flyers coach. I also want to see Connor McDavid as a center on the Flyers. As a fan I mean.

Theory not an excuse...I know how I would have felt it if I was forced to go in close contact with 19 individuals who were likely infected/had been recently, with the exertion of heavy breathing..of course they were not in a closed room but the glass would have kept most of the aspirated droplets in the rink and benches areas, penalty boxes AT BREATHING LEVEL. Yes I am an air distribution expert and know how this crap works after designing OR's and bio labs and even some stadiums.

Last time i checked there are 19 skaters on the team and each are paid professionals in the top league in the world in this sport. Why anyone thinks one player, wearing the C or not, is solely responsible for the team slow starts, overall success, etc over a span of a decade doesn't understand TEAM sports.
If fans are upset by the lack of success since 2010, i know i am, there's a ton of blame to go around, but to pin it on Giroux is just asinine. He's not perfect every game, but i see him giving it his all more than not.
I'm not in the locker room to know his leadership or lack there of, but knowing the history of this franchise, if there were questions internally about his leadership, there would've been changes.

Not saying G is to blame, but can you explain slow starts to games and not showing up and playing hard? The flyers do it more than any other team, and have been doing it over the last 10 years Even through multiple coaches

Last year I'm on record that I thought leadership was a real problem on this team, but now I can't make that excuse any longer, not after Fletcher brings in 5 or 6 players from the outside that have wore a letter on their shirt for their respective teams. There is plenty of veteran leadership in the Flyers locker room now. G is just one in many voices. |

Excellent observation Bill. Two things that should help for sure will be the return of a healthy Ellis to stabilize the D. Hayes back in Brassard's spot will be a huge upgrade and may jump start the line because Farabee for one is a little off lately. Happy to see Carter Hart with some strong performances and appears to be back. Kubel has to stop with the dumb penalties or his value is just not there. I dread the upcoming two minutes for something when he is on the ice. Risto has a similar knack of taking dumb penalties and despite his size and skillset I think he has to be much better. Finally AV praising this performance has me a little worried because it was not a good performance against an undermanned Pens team. - joegreif17
NAK takes dumb penalties, especially the dreaded ones 200 feet from his own net. But name me 1 dumb penalty Risto has taken this year so far? |

watched the 1st last night and I assume the rest of the game was similar. They have a lot to address and I am hoping they come out firing against the Caps. I don't see what changes the Flyers can make. They need that 2C, top pair D and they need Thompson in the press box. I don't see in-house solutions currently. I am hoping Frost plays another good game this weekend but, I think he needs a good 10-15 game stretch before he would be a callup.
All that said it is early in the season but they sit in the top 10 in league, ugly or not that is reality. I guess the teams below them also have their struggles, their holes in the lineup, their screwups. I do think November will show us who the Flyers are. Is the process working towards being better, is this just how the league is, teams up and down or are the Flyers the same as they were last year, lucky to win a few and destined to lose a lot of games.
we shall see |

I see some in house options. Only way to tell if they can help is to play them.

Longer. I remember thinking this when Richards was captaining urge Flyers. We were always terrible during Matinee games under Mike Richards. |

Transition hockey and transition play. Mostly with the defense. Biggest issue with the Flyers. The better your transition game, the more time you spend with the puck. The less time you spend without it. Attacking is winning hockey. Defending, no matter how well you do it is losing hockey. Winning means being a bona fide contending team. Losing means not being one. |
