If I was in charge, I'd tell Jeremy that his coaching future entirely depends on impressing me in this one game tonight. |

If I was in charge I would’ve had my pink slip out the second Mark Crawford got out of protocol. |

When can Kalnyuk come back, it has to be close? 10 bucks and my left nut says he starts in Rockford. Might be a good idea, but I would actually prefer to watch a guy who can skate. |

we get it, you think the Hawks issues are solely because they lack talent. Others think it is because the coaching sucks. Reality lies somewhere in the middle.
You can have the greatest talent in the world, but if they are deployed incorrectly and/or play within the confines of a "system" that leaves them at a competitive disadvantage, then they will not play up to that potential.
Yes, we can all pick out poor games by individual players, and poor plays, but in the same sense we can point out games where the outcome does not necessarily reflect the play on the ice overall. - TheTrob
I'm saying the Hawks aren't good enough to say it's the coaches fault. I actually think he makes the game too complicated for what he has but he doesn't have much so far this year. Pieced together defense, non existent offense, goalie looks like they're playing with an open net. "Gus" is playing need I say more? |

I’m sorry, everyone is judged by things out of their control on their job. There are supply chain issues and a pandemic going on, which are external to our organization, but through the first 3 quarters of our fiscal year, we’re posting record sales and profits. That’s because we’re reacting to the external challenges better than our competitors.
Look what BUF is doing so far. New coach has his top player out, and also has a questionable roster, yet he’s got them playing well enough, so far, to be 5-3-1. - scottak
Actually, good analogy. To take it one step further I worked in Purchasing (Controller) for a large company 10 years. Managing supply chain shortages, yes that's your job. But short term raw material and currency increases, not so much. |

Well i don't think we're going to win many faceoffs tonight my guess between 35 to 40% |

Because Reese Johnson brings more offense than those two. |

I can appreciate the rotation of guys protecting center ice in front of MAF. They are doing a very nice job of contesting everything. Not getting lost along the boards If they can continue this defense for 60 minutes through out the season they will be in a lot of games. I'm changing my stance on JC for now.
Continue working on the defense but the passing needs a lot of work now.

Not disagreeing with you. My post was more about coaches dealing with factors outside their control. - scottak
Indeed, and I should have referenced/included more of that in my response, but I've been too wordy lately so I'm trying to keep it shorter. |

Carpenter with the most TOI (7:38) of all Hawk forwards in the 1st, unbelievable. Look, I don’t mind Carpenter on the fourth line playing about twelve minutes a game, but that’s just ridiculous. Play Kane with Toews and Hagel, Dcat with Dach and Kubalik. |

I'll defer to Chunk on why he's playing so many minutes, hahaha |
