Patrick Kane texted Jeremy Colliton last night begging to play tonight despite being off the ice for 10 straight days.
Kane even said: "I'll only play 11 or 12 minutes" if it meant getting into the lineup, but Colliton joked "like that's going to happen."

Then, like the Showtime he is, proceeds to get the hat trick and move up a position on not one, but two, Hawks record holder lists.

Kane was symptomatic "a little bit" with the COVID. Have to wonder how a hockey player's "little bit" compares to the rest of ours. "Yeah, I was bleeding from my eyes and couldn't walk, but not bad, not bad."

Some quotes from him - he corrected his last statement on Beach - for those of you who, like me, were a bit disappointed in the first take:

"I feel bad the last time I talked, obviously I kind of put my personal experience with management ahead of the way Kyle was treated by them. Obviously when you do that, you don't want to diminish or overshadow anything that Kyle went through with our organization. It takes some incredible courage and pride for him to come forward and deal with what he's dealt with. We're all thinking about him, too. It's still in the back of our mind even though it's been a little bit. Just want the best for him, his life moving forward. Try to reach out to him, say if he's willing to talk or wants to reach out, you're here for him because obviously it's been 11 years and it's a lot to deal with for a long time."

So Fleury ups his trade value! Kenny would over-pay anyway.

Anyone not named Kane, Dach, DeBrincat, I'm giving Toews an "Incomplete" for now.

Give Borgstrom a real good opportunity and you might add him to that list. He has the skill and he has shown willingness to go in front of net and battle.

You hope that a different system and coach would mean that a McCabe is as advertised. This team can compete and if Dach develops, watch h out.. Some additional hard working bottom line guys - we have them in the system - also makes us competing each game.

Looking for a bright spot beside the top offensive players. Won't cover every player who could become a bright spot, just the ones we are waiting on

Yeah we are waiting on Nylander to play the same.way in NHL as he has in the AHL.
Might have to go with Borgstrom, Dach developing because we don't know that we will be able to add other top line talent and a top dman from the draft. Reichel sure but he is going to be a top NHL player......just not immediately

Oh Kalynuk is ok probably and Mitchell might turn out fairly good. As third pair if Rogula can tidy up some things he could be a scoring threat. Galvas could be steady..<<

You might have to apologize about Bowman talent evaluation if Soderblom is the real deal. But we need a coach with a better system and players whom are held accountable

Ottawa head coach, DJ Smith, said his team lost in part because not enough players weren't playing well or giving the effort defensively.

Each team has to avoid this and presently Chicago is experiencing too much lack of responsibility and playing well defensively

Not sure I trust Eddie O. As a GM. Eddie and D Savard are long time Blackhawks. Dennis Savard Savard was fired and Rocky loathe to see that happen to Eddie o. What exactly is his type of team

I don't think the next GM and coaches names have been mentioned here yet? Just a hunch it won't be somebody recycled, unless Rocky pries a big name free with $'s ala Theo the genius who couldn't develop a pitcher in 9 years Epstein.

I would wager that Rocky does not want to hire to later fire a long time Blackhawk. Dennis Savard, for example, didn't last long as a coach. Do we or does Rocky feel convinced we know what type of team Eddie O. Wants?[

Would Chicago be fine with Craig Button or Jay Feaster coming in as GM? Both of these guys would bring some stability to the organization. Just curious as an outsider.
I hear Peter Chiarelli is looking for work lol. Brian Burke would be great in Chicago, pry him from Pittsburgh, Hextall is making all the calls anyways. Or another name would be Jim Rutherford?

Patrick Roy is actively looking to become a GM. Kevin Weekes name has come up a lot too. Thoughts?
