And I think Bergy's moral compass has a variable north - Fredo
Sadly a lot of successful people have questionable morals and it helps them succeed by not giving a (frank). That's the world we live in |

Not sure fans are even ready to give up the dream and admit it yet...Remember when the Habs awesome wingers were going to make him into a quality 2C? Funny you don't see that argument anymore - Takemedrunkimhome
I got nothing against Dvorak - good contract, solid center that can be moved up to #2, but ideally a #3 on a strong team playing a more defensive role that can chip in some points.
He is not trash.
Just not the player the Habs need... and certainly not for a 1st and and a 2nd.

Much like Price's contract everybody knew "they had to" do it and everybody knew it would be overpriced and wouldn't age well. It is what it is. Habs will need some vets that do things the right way while they rebuild and that likely is Gallagher.
Of MB's many sins, Gallagher's contract isn't near the top - which says more about MB than anything - Takemedrunkimhome
i want a contract that's way more than i'm worth. some of these GMs need to start working for my company after they lose their gigs. hook me up with some 8 year contract that cripples the company. also, i'll gladly go on LTIR if they ask me to. |

I'm more worried about Anderson's to be honest. - stinger67
Really?
Anderson still looks fine to me.
Gallagher is breaking down and won't get better as time goes on.

All of which is to say MB signed a guy who shouldn't take NHL shifts because he built an organization with no prospect depth or options and he signed a guy he knew wasn't good to satisfy the Quebecois media that trashed him for not having a Quebecois player on the roster at one point last season. You can't ignore the Quebecois element of this signing - Takemedrunkimhome oh yeah there's one for sure, and to be honest you have Daphin, Dea or Belzile who could probably do a much better job in Laval

Speaking of Bergy sins, who else believe's that the assistant GM in charge of player developpement was the only one in the entire Chicago organisation not aware what happened to Beach, a first round pick up and down with their farm club? - Fredo
He surely knew.
...but he wasn't mentioned in the report, and Beach never talked about him.
My view is that everybody from that Blackhawks 2010 team is tainted
How about the players? They seem to get a free pass. |

He's not trash and the trade being awful has nothing to do with him.
The Habs as their roster was constructed didn't need to get better but still suck and sure as hell shouldn't have been trading top picks. Nothing to do with Dvorak. Everything to do with Molson and MB lying to themselves and fans and setting the franchise back |

I didn't see yesterday's game I was doing Halloween with the kids, what happened? - Fredo
midway through the first game tied 1-1 (Habs already given up a PP goal) he takes a run at Zegras from behind. 5 min major, game misconduct. Ducks score on the PP obviously, Habs, already dealing with injuries on a b2b, shorthanded most of the game.

Gallagher will always give his 100%. Worse case scenario, he'll be on LTIR.
Anderson could turn into Lucic in a few years. Still playing but being a uni dimension zero effective player.
Also, yes, I know Lucic never skated like Anderson. Still, I'm worried about his contract going forward. |

I refuse to think Molson and MB are lying to themselves.
I really think they thought it would be suicide in this market to have a bad team after going to the finals last year. And with no better options, they just plugged in whatever they could find and hope they found magic in a bottle yet again.
But guess what?
Unlikely to get a covid-bubble-pass into a 24 team playoff this year, and no teams to feast on early in the season and then watch then fail their way to the playoffs.
There is just zero long-term strategy with this management group, just short term panic and patting themselves for a job (they think is) well done.

It's likely 1-2 years too long.
But as you mentioned, Anderson can skate. That should help.
Guys like him are hard to find, I'd trade plenty of guys before Josh.

So obviously Belzile and Harvey-Pinard.

He's back now. 5 points in 4 games.
And it was a neck injury. |
