Time to blow It up but first get a competent GM to walk you through It properly, Hey! I got a new nickname for Price, Carey CRICKETS Price.

oh, my point wasn't necessarily to compare both teams' situations, just to highlight the difference with their approach and how they chose to advertise it

true enough, but NYR can do that, noone cares. people have other teams to cheer for, other sports, other cultural activities...
here there's the Habs.... and that's it. people will come back whatever you do, there's nothing else. not excusing them, you are right

hockey is indeed a religion in Quebec, and there's no denying it's a very high-pressure market, but at the same time if your decision-making is based on the fans' or the media's reactions then you might not be the best person for the job...

I don't mind a good ol' toss once in a while, as long as someone politely asks me beforehand.

ugh, when you put it that way it just sounds like an excruciating chore lol...

like I was saying I'll decide around the 20-25 games mark in the season if I want to continue watching this poopshow, or if I'll simply give it a break. at this point I don't really have any expectations, and even if they lose the majority of their games I just wish they'd give a good effort every night, and display enough cohesion so that the younger guys can still continue on their learning curve without having to worry if the rest of the team will show up or not. sadly, nearly every game so far has just been depressing... oh well

call me crazy but I'm hoping that Edmundson's return will have an instant positive impact on the defensive pairings, and that Price comes back sometime shortly after christmas, so that they reach a certain level of stability to make the games more watchable...

I'm somewhat masochistic as a sports fan so I'll keep watching it. Edmundson will have a positive impact but doubtful it's a needle mover. I'm not sure if or when Price is coming back so I'm not going to speculate but regular season Carey with no chance of playoffs, can't see him being motivated to get to the level of play he needs to have to carry the team

Of course today they'll come out and smoke my Ducks...

I watched the game yesterday and... damn... could Weber and Price be that big an absence.. They must be.... because that was ugly from the Habs.

agreed, it's not about going on a winning streak, I'm just hoping that having him in the lineup brings a bit more confidence collectively, and makes them less disorganized in their own zone... and yeah it's a long shot for Price, I'm not even thinking about the playoffs or whatever, but his presence should make them more competitive and somewhat entertaining to follow.

I keep saying I won't watch all the games if things continue this way but perhaps my masochism is on a subconscious level, so I might end up going through it despite the general feeling of discouragement lol

The kids keep finding ways to just barely lose.. although since Murray copped to accepting the rebuild... and just play Z / Jamie / Bo / McTavish / Terry and the other kids and live with it.. they've been super fun but maddening to watch...

the same could be said about the habs right now, if you replace the fun part with sadness and fragility...

The following is what I believe will happen this week or next

1. MB gets fired, Molson will not name a GM until end of season
2. Trade for a defensive centre
3. Trade for a LH puck moving dman

I think Toffoli and/or Drouin will be traded along with Lekhonen/Evans/Armia
