Yes.

Ironically he was the only one who released a statement yesterday that sounded remotely apologetic.

The NHL is here for the optics only. They can’t control this the way they control concussion data and related narratives. Even Fehr was called out in this interview. Case in point, no one in the diversity or anti-racism camps have come out and said “The NHL gets it.” Folks were encouraged the NHL said the right things at the start, but nothing since. Sounds a lot like Beach’s story where folks assured him then left him hanging.

None of the leagues truly care about the people involved, just the money. The only time action really gets taken is when something affects gambling odds (steroids, throwing games, etc.).

Edit: The teams who have most publicly not cared about sexual assaults in the past year (CHI, MON, PHX) have been in the basement so far. Sucks for the players, but the organizations deserve that and far worse.

Long time fan of Quenneville. Even though he is one of the best of all time, he should never coach another game in the NHL. End of story.

People are calling Kane, Toews and Keith liars about what they did and did not know, but none of you guys really can say whether they are lying or telling the truth. Clearly many players knew, but not necessarily all of them. All you can do is speculate and that isn't really fair to them. People only want to hear the truth if it fits their narrative.

With that being said, Toews and Kane both showed very poor taste in sticking up for Bowman and deserve some backlash for that.

I thought about how the hawks basically called him a liar for a decade. Then to hear about the slurs? So other people definitely knew. To then let the coach resign and then he turns around and gets charged with hurting a 14 year old? How is that not on Hawks leadership? Not culpable? Or the intern who was the 2nd hawks employee to be assaulted?

Then for "captain" toews to basically give them all a pass? Did he really say 'water under the bridge'? and talk about all the great things they have done for the org? So the message is "come play for chicago, unless one of our coaches decides he wants to assault you, then you are on your own". Maybe the hawks should bring in theo fleury. How about the NHLPA? what do they do to protect their players again? He said he gave 2 different interviews with the PA.

Lots of failures to go around but the hawks own the 14 year old victim and the intern getting assaulted because they did nothing after they were informed of the 1st.

You want to talk about tone deaf, how about coach colliton saying "its a tough day for me. Stan brought me into this org."......seriously? its a tough day for colliton? Nothing about the victims, it was a tough day for him. holy crap.

So sad to see Kyle have to apologize for what happened to that kid cause he felt he didn't do enough.

Saddest thing ever in hockey.

And then Chicago and its top players give the worst excuses of answers.

No accountability from top down.

Burn the whole organization.

I find it unbelievable that the 3 players with most to lose are the three claiming exceptions when witnesses state everybody knew. They all wore letters. THey were the leaders. Yet they didn’t know, eh? Smells like Bullpoop.

Eddie Olczyk had nothing to say about the Chicago Blackhawks scandal on the TNT broadcast last night, He usually Isn't at a loss for words. Now we know why Toews took the year off last season and let his teammates down, He's turning out to be a horrible choice as captain.

Legally they are in the clear but I think people are allowed to call BS and speculate if they want, especially if it doesn't make logical sense.

If Toews or Kane are angry at people not believing them then they can get mad at anyone who tried to cover it up. But they said they still think Bowman is a good man even though his lack of action allowed Aldrich to move on and eventually assault a child so I dunno how much integrity they have now.

Going to the cops might lead to your story being subject to actual scrutiny and investigation. Reading the full report shows the holes in Beach's account of events. Seems Beach just wanted Aldrich fired immediately and didn't concern himself with criminal charges once that happened (albeit it was a few weeks later Aldrich was gone)

Because they lied to cover up, and now it's being reported that members of the team engaged in homophobic bullying of Beach.
- Atomic Wedgie

How 'bout you simply say "bullying?" Does the empty referent of "homophobic" somehow exacerbate the putative problem? There's no such thing as "homophobia," for starters, and secondly, its cultural usage is mostly a political term used to silence (read: bully) people who would dare question the gay agenda.

What should happen? Well let's start with the $2M fine to the Hawks. If the NHL denied an investigation why should they get that money? That should go directly to Beach for lost wages.

Well we have two extreme sides in this country. The far left and the far right. Both are intolerable. The far left want everything to be about race, sexuality, etc... The far right won't acknowledge any of it because they're so angry at the far left. That's pretty much what's going on in your post.

I'm not necessarily saying you're a far right person, but clearly don't want to acknowledge the comments as homophobic slurs because it means "they" are right.
