...and after Aldrich left, he was later convicted of sexually assaulting a minor. What if the authorities were notified prior to that f8ck getting a job at a school where he could prey on kids?
- Only_A_Ladd

The BlackHawks recommended him for that job!!!!!!
That's how unbelievably terrible this is.

hence why I don't understand why Keith, Seabrooke, Kane and Toews are getting dragged into this, keep in mind, they were all still kids when they '' favored'' (whoever came up with that narrative in the media is an idiot) winning the cup, Bowman, Quennville , the PA , ownership should all be blamed for this.

Maybe don't blatantly lie and you won't get dragged.

Where is Bergevin in all this?

I don't see how there's any way around all of these people having to go. It's intolerable. And the Black hawks need to be punished as an org.
As for the players - there needs to be some accountability there too.

Pete Rose was one of the greatest baseball players ever, and wont be in the hall because he gambled. These cowards enabled RAPE and covered it up. None of them should get anywhere near the hockey HOF.

It's the NHL...chance of Bettman being on the ice celebrating a Panthers stanley cup with coach Q are greater than the league doing the right thing.... p.s....how is Sean Avery doing?

Does anyone have video of the 2010 Cup celebrations. I'd like to see the reactions when this creep lifted the Cup. Ek was 2010 one of the times you were on the ice? If so, what did you remember?

I kind of feel bad for Blackhawks fans in all of this too. It has nothing to do with them at all but their team they love, that that they went on all of those emotional rides of cup runs with, one of the most successful of the past 10 to 15 years, is being dragged through the dirt. Sucks.

All this talk about what should happen to so and so. I have a question; why in the FRANK is no one talking about what should happen to Aldrich? You know, the actual rapist! There’s literally NO talk about him at all. Yes, The Hawks brass involved in sweeping this under the rug should be punished, and punished harshly. But why is no one talking about the biggest criminal in this whole scandal?? Is he dead, and I just haven’t found out yet?

He was convicted of the subsequent sexual assault of the minor and spent 9 months in jail and was given 5 years probation. I would think he can still be charged for this incident as well.

They removed the statue of limitations for sexual assault in Illinois last year, so prosecutors should be free to charge him.

This story line will grow in phases-

1.Everyone in the meeting will be gone including Q & KV.

2. Players association will see a major shakedown starting with the firing of Fehr.

3. Rapist will be prosecuted & found guilty.

4.Asst coaches & other internal members of the organization will be brought forward & expelled from the League one by one.

5.Beach will settle for confidential money in the millions.

6.Wirtz Boys will set up & fund a Foundation in his name.

7. Players who knew will live with the guilt of there non action.

& on it will go.

The JoePa treatment.

Great comparison !! And I'm a Nittany Lion fan.

A football legend . . . and he knew about what was going on, head of the program, and PSU still had the backbone to let him go.

Now for the more serious part, both the Florida Panthers and Winnipeg Jets organizations would become collateral damage and become damagd through no fault of their own. Forcing resignations ould be wrong but......fining each of them $1million dollars, equal to the amount that the BlackHawks organziation paid, would send a strong message. It should be followed up with a Lifetime Probationary period so that any other offense will be grounds for dismissal ...

That money would be a slap on the wrist. Both were compadres with the management posse that ignored Beach's situation because "winning the Cup was a bigger priority".

The players? . . . I'm not sure. They certainly didn't support Beach, even teased and made fun of him, great teammates - and as the Captain, Towes should shoulder the biggest responsibility. Pleading ignorance just proves they are all liars.

In the end this is a league that constantly preaches accountability.

C'mon EK !! This league may preach accountability, but rarely follows through. Just look at their DoPS - not accountable for all the screw ups they do. Same for the referees . . . and the players & coaches are fined for going public on how bad they are.

Without much evidence, nothing will happen to the existing players unless they can get a bunch of players to name names of the ones uttering the homophobic slurs. If They simply did nothing about it , (which sucks) it’s not really their responsibility unlike the coaches and management.
So here’s what I think should happen.
-Independent investigation of the NHLPA
-Independent investigation of the league offices.
Depending on the findings, the guys on top should either step down or be fired.
- full player inquiry. Voluntary participation for retired players.
Depending on results and severity, active players suspended minimum 1 year. Retired players Hall of Fame standing should be in question ( not sure if anyone from that roster is in the Hall) .
Based on the current findings Q should be fired and banned , as well as life time bans for McDonough, Bowman and everyone else who was involved.
Full charges legal laid on the offender.

For me, the NHLPA and the teammates are the most disappointing. Unreal how they chose to do the WRONG thing. I expect that from the league and management

i was paraphrasing from yesterday's Buzzcast. Talking about Toews like he was patron Saint of virtue, when he clearly covered up a rape and allowed a locker room where homophobic slurs were thrown freely at Kyle Beach. This idea that all of these people are beyond reproach is what allowed a RAPE to be ignored for 11 years and others to be hurt in the process. Shameful.

You can have opinions 100% - but to state your opinion as a fact is not the right way to go about stating your viewpoints.
Nobody truly knows but those actually involved who was aware, how definitively they were aware (rumour vs being told by victim, etc).

The management and coaches that did know and it had proven - should all be banned for life. That seems like a good place to start.

but Bergevin was still part of management at the time and should be questioned. It's not like nobody talked afterward and his input could be a revelation. He could also be complicit. EVERYBODY in that org needs a reckoning.
