This is not at all surprising. The NHL is the poorest run league of any major sport. There is a spirit of incest running through league management, recycled coaches presidents and GM's ostaicize teams who try to hire outside of the network. The lack of RFA offer sheets demonstrates the colluded system year after year.

Fehr's behavior is the worst of all the fox is guarding the hen house.

I agree. Strip them of the cup and award it to the Flyers. Of course I'm a little biased. But it's the nhl so it will never happen

Except the Blackhawks were the better hockey team that won the series on the ice fair and square.

The matters of the fact the coach was a scum bag, their President of hockey operations and other execs were scumbags and possibly some of the players were does not change the fact the better team won.

You talk about a Cup with an asterisk? Handing the losing team the Cup would qualify as that.

If the Hawks cheated to somehow win that series, then yes give the Cup to Philly, but that did not happen, no matter how absolutely horrific and tragic the organization looks to this day.

That said the 2010 Cup team (which prior to this week had been my actual favorite team of the 3 Cup winners) certainly has a major black stain over it. And it may never go away.

Fehr is another person that should go away. And this was also reported to USA Hockey, who won't let me near my youth team I coach until I undergo a series of detailed background checks, all the way up to FBI backgrounds. Yet they completely ignore Kyle's complaint? Brilliant.

Point to consider:

“Other sports like baseball, basketball and football, most of those guys are going to university for at least a few years and growing up a bit more,” he said. “In hockey, we’re moving away from home at 15 to play junior hockey, riding 25 hours on a bus. Our lives are only hockey. That’s it. Everything revolves around the sport. Many guys aren’t equipped to talk about anything else.”

hence why I don't understand why Keith, Seabrooke, Kane and Toews are getting dragged into this, keep in mind, they were all still kids when they '' favored'' (whoever came up with that narrative in the media is an idiot) winning the cup, Bowman, Quennville , the PA , ownership should all be blamed for this.

They’re getting dragged in because they are clearly lying about it. Come clean.

I wasn't being 100% serious. However. There is a clear coverup to avoid the a major distraction to the the team. If, it was announced during the series would it have caused a change in the product on the ice. I think so. Therefore covering it up may have effective the outcome by avoiding the distraction.

Because they lied to cover up, and now it's being reported that members of the team engaged in homophobic bullying of Beach.

I hope they are named and if still playing in the league, are kicked out.

100% correct. Chicago and a few other teams are league favorites. As a NJ Devils fan I found it incredible that the Devils were fined and stripped of a first round pick for the Kovalchuk contract issue, while other teams did the same thing and the league looked the other way. Interesting that the fine for the Devils was $3 million and for Chicago in this case only $2 million.

Fehr needs to be gone forever along with anyone else in a position of authority who knew about it and did nothing.

They won't be kicked out if their names are Kane and Toews. The NHL doesn't believe in equal justice.

These are the same guys that are on the "Hockey is for everyone" commercials the NHL is putting out.

THat excuse is BS, IMO. A a person you know what is right or wrong, especially as a mid-later 20s person. and supposedly a leader and captain.

Kane has been part of assault allegations before, so its not surprising.

These guys knew, lied that they knew and are playing dumb and trying to distance themselves as much as they can.

Break up the old boys club. The fact that Quenville, and Cheveldayoff are meeting with Bettman is a joke. Bettman has blood on his hands and he's the judge of what happens to Quenville?

The NHL pretends to be better than the other leagues. Bettman has his favorites. Lamorillo does what he wants. Burke used to work for him and kissed his butt for what felt like an entire chapter of "Burke's Law." Quenville and the Bowmans? You're talking about NHL Royalty.

Clean house and not just in Chicago. The NHL offices need new blood. Penalties, suspensions, fines. "Player Safety?" So much seems arbitrary. I know it won't happen. But it should.

i was paraphrasing from yesterday's Buzzcast. Talking about Toews like he was patron Saint of virtue, when he clearly covered up a rape and allowed a locker room where homophobic slurs were thrown freely at Kyle Beach. This idea that all of these people are beyond reproach is what allowed a RAPE to be ignored for 11 years and others to be hurt in the process. Shameful.

You still make mistakes in your mid-20's , my point being is that at the end of the day , they are hockey players not HR department stiffs, that being said , i'm glad the right heads are falling, hopefully Quennville and Chevy are next.

I don’t think Sopel’s comments provide any cover for Toews. He completed 2 years of college at UND and was a Captain. That’s more than just a kid.

One can say the decision begins and ends with the GM since they make the decision at the end of the day, but these guys were all in that room - all were aware of what happened - all were complicit. Any one could have whistleblown and notified the authorities, which would have been the right thing to do. IMO that includes the players. To the players who notified HR, that's a great start, but after you complain and a week later you see that this sex offender is still around the team? HR failed. You should be calling the cops.

You can say hindsight is 20/20, but all of these guys let that rapist on the ice to celebrate the 2010 cup win knowing full well what he did. It's shameful.

Bad look for the NHL allowing Q to even coach last night. Kyle Beach came forward yesterday which I can’t even imagine how difficult that was. Meanwhile Q is still collecting a win as if everything is normal.
- arichardson22

Kyle Beach was let down at every step along the way... the 'Hawks dropped the ball, the NHLPA dropped the ball, the law firm doing the investigation basically outed him... now it's apparently the league's turn to (frank) things up.

...and after Aldrich left, he was later convicted of sexually assaulting a minor. What if the authorities were notified prior to that f8ck getting a job at a school where he could prey on kids?

Where is Bergevin in all this?

I don't see how there's any way around all of these people having to go. It's intolerable. And the Black hawks need to be punished as an org.
As for the players - there needs to be some accountability there too.
