It sounds like towes knew but not Kane plus all the things Kane did and other things the hawks got him out of. Something does not add up on Kane s side of the story.

Another thing very worrisome for me is the idea that Q pushed to not react because of "Team Chemistry". This narrative bothers me because I think it points the players in a negative light.

For instance, lets say NONE of the players knew this video coach was doing these things. Then all of a sudden out of nowhere they find out that Coach Brad has been dismissed of his duties. No need to say why, just prosecute him after the season, whatever, but get rid of him. WHY would this hurt chemistry? WHY?

"Hey boys, Coach Brad is gone, lets get ready for the game". WHY would firing a video coach mess with Team Chemistry?

The ONLY reason I can think of is that the players DID know and there was likely various degree of responses to the episode. Responses ranging from outright harassment of Kyle by some players, to ambivalence, to disgust. Had this issue "come to head" for a team who all players were "in the know", there is no question that probably does ruin team chemistry.

Maybe Aldrich was a really good video coach. Q had coached a long time at that point without scaling the mountain top. He could have viewed shaking up his staff going into the final as a bigger "distraction" than the complaint of some black ace practice body.

Here’s my $0.02 on how it should have been handled, unfortunately I have terminated some long term employees in my career. Once the incident is reported, you cannot assume that the predator is guilty.
1. You send the accused home, cannot report to work until notified.
2. You prioritize the investigation, with a target of said investigation to be completed within 72 hours.
3. If accused is found guilty after investigation, accused is asked to report to management.
4. Once accused reports, you inform him of investigation results and inform him of employment termination.
5. Security follows him to collect personal belongings and walks him off premises.
6. NHL, NHLPA, and police are notified of results of investigation.
7. Victim is sent to counseling and management should follow up every couple of days with victim.
If the investigation would have been completed in a timely manner, management would have determined that it was not actually harassment, but assault.

What if the investigation is inconclusive? What if Beach’s story, Aldrich’s story, and if there was a 2nd player his story are different or contradictory?

Hindsight is 20/20. But at the very least you would deny any Aldrich/player contact in person/email/text etc until the investigation is concluded. In addition you advise Beach to seek outside counsel.

Make sure to say ORGANIZATION as Canadian as possible, so people understand you.

While I do believe the biggest scumbags in that room were Q and McDonught and Stan was a young inexperienced executive at the time so I am sure it was very intimidating to challenge McCub or Mustache, Stan had a chance to be a great man and stand up for what was right and he failed. YES, I think of all the men in that room he harbors the "least" amount of responsibility, but he said nothing and played in a cover up for 10 years before finally, for whatever reason, appearing to finally come clean.

Stan's apology was also akin to the players, bloviating hot air, passing the buck basically. In his mind maybe he thought "I did enough" by reporting it, but he WAS the GM and he said nothing while the sexual predator was prancing around the ice with the Stanley Cup.

So while this guy or that guy is probably "more responsible" the fact is Bowman could have changed the outcome, all the men in that room could have. None did, they all suck.

Everybody in management was at fault...they waited three weeks until the playoffs were over while letting this guy remain with the team.

Imagine as a parent, a school allowing a sexual predator to remain with the school until the end of the school year had concluded.

Drew Doughty? And Baily got fired after a King employee convinced the cheerleader to come back, which she did but quit about 3 months after because of unsafe conditions. Kings only settled after she filed a lawsuit.
