If the Leafs stumble tonight, does somebody from MLSE step up and speak about the Leafs front office? Generally the Toronto media is very supportive of the Leafs. But, in the past week, reporting has become stressed.
After nearly 2 full years of covid, everyone was looking for a huge sports business and sports media bounce back. Most are pretty confident that the Leafs should work this out, but there are some cracks beginning to form. - spatso
I doubt anything severe will happen to the leafs this year tbh… meaning other than Dubas and sometimes Shanahan the front office will continue to lay low

You are probably right.
But, it is really noticeable just how tentative the media has become in covering the Leafs and the players that are struggling. Perhaps I am misreading the coverage. It appears that they have decided to play dumb for now and say little. It is strange when the main stream media simply does not acknowledge what Joe Fan is talking about.

I agree Doz.
If this team is this bad we're likely suffering all year. Summer might be the time? I say might because all we hear out of Leafs camp is they're fine. Nothing from the outside is going to shake them. Sticking with the core. We just got play our game. We did some really good things and we'll take those to the next game...Blah, Blah standard issue poop.
If they're sucking, I just hope they try to trade Rielly before he walks for nothing. At least give me that...a tiny sign that they're not all idiots.
It is funny tho, finally feeling a little DGAF. I think my blue crush is quickly fading...finally after 50 years.

They don’t want to be harsh in case it does end up being a slow start but they get declined interview opportunities due to posting negative media

Lol I think they’ll be reasonable eventually but unless they somehow turn into a cup contender I agree, they need to be honest with themselves and move Rielly at the deadline where a team that does consider itself a competitor overpays for him lol

Doesn't Bell and Rogers own a good chunk of that?
Need to stay on good there terms with them I would think.

So, Ed Rogers is fighting and trying to replace all the members of the Board. And, his sisters and mother are trying to have him removed from the Charitable Board where much of their wealth is sequestered. Little did we know that it was all Marner's fault.

They don’t tell their team to (frank) off and trade someone away if they’re going into the playoffs.

Sticking with my prediction that Chicago will snap their streak of not having a lead this year early on tonight. Even with a minor league squad it's the leafiest outcome possible

And risk getting added to the World Press Freedom pooplist? I would think that everyone with a stake in continued canadian journalistic integrity would make sure that the hockey media is allowed to speak frankly about the Leafs.
