It’s not just the two points, it’s more about winning a superbly played game against a highly skilled opponent.

Rielly wasn’t terrible. He’s still an offensive force and so-so defensively - Canada Cup
2 plays
Debrincat walking around Rielly and Brodie
Then
PP at end of the game…. Dives and misses puck which almost cost us the game

Who made that pass. Think he was beat anyway as he was going away from the puck.

Shows that he will eventually be better
But as of right now he’s minus 3 with 2A and Dermott is plus 1 with 1A

That and the puck gets by him a lot
But he’s essentially a rookie, he’ll keep getting better as the season rolls along is my guess

You’re right, sorry I forgot to work in tonight’s stats
Makes Dermott +2 as well
Like I said atm I think Dermott is a touch more reliable defensively, however I see Sandin being one of the top 3 d men on the team by seasons end

Engvall gave him a trash pass for goal #2 and put him in a bad spot.
Not a Holl fan but that wasn’t on him I don’t think.
He has been a lot of trash though

He’s looked fancier but I still think Dermott has played a bit steadier tbh
But like I said I fully expect that to change throughout the season as well… by halfway through I’m guessing Sandin will have learned how to be more cautious with his passes and ensuring the puck doesn’t go by him all that often.
I agree with you but I do think Sandin’s talent is still a touch raw at the NHL level. But after all those pro years in the AHL I don’t expect that it will take him long to fully make this step up.

Leafs just needed a win. They got it. Worked for it from a 2 - 0 deficit so gotta give them props. Doesn't matter how they did it or if it should have been easier. They just needed it.
