You don’t bury it and let the guy that raped a player continue coaching and celebrate the cup on ice and with a day with the cup and then give him a letter of recommendation. Keep in mind, the facts relayed to management at the time was that of an allegation. There have been plenty here that have said, "How can a weasley video coach force himself onto a physically fit hockey player?" They likely thought the same. At the time I'm sure it sounded more like 2 guys got together, and given the culture and era at the time, word got out and the player in this case was full of regret. When the guy quit rather than be investigated the Hawks moved on. Kyle Beach should have called the cops if he wanted justice

Beach leaving out the details regarding the woman's involvement is a huge red flag. Certainly puts into question his version if just watching hockey, minding his own business and then being "attacked" out of nowhere.

I think it speaks to the Hawks management having limited info that amounted to a complicated accusation. One that they needed time to sort out. Keep in mind they already had predispositions to Beach's irresponsible and party lifestyle

Aldrich can be a dirtball and Beach could have put himself in a bad position and used poor judgement. Aldrich can be a predator who took advantage, it doesn't mean that it went down in the exact way that Beach has claimed

these are not mutually exclusive

If only Beach had come forward and this could have been investigated at the time, instead of relying on the 10 year old memories and testimony to determine what really happened

What matters now is that we need to find a new coach and move on!
