Kap looked very slow and out of place last night... possibly the worst on the ice in my eye test - Guile

Kap's hands are a mess....someone said last night its like he's deking himself out and I had a good chuckle at that because that's what it looks like at times hahah
He's still recovering from his binge drinking, coke and hookers on the Florida trip, I'd say.... - MattStrat
That was me. I just think he is trying to do way too much and put too much pressure on himself. Meanwhile, Zucker has simplified his game to skate fast, hit guy with puck, and put puck on net, and he looks great. |

I like that top line and if it can actually produce (good metrics, but low goal production last season) it gives you a lot more flexibility throughout the lineup.
Also, no laff so that's always a plus. |

Yeah, I think you're right. He's definitely overthinking things. He does have 4 points in 6 games though and his underlying numbers look good. He'll bury some soon.

I'd like to see DOC take a few shifts at RW with Sid. I know it's his off-wing, but I'd like to see if he can play all positions.

I just looked up his underlying numbers and I was quite shocked. Way better than last season.

ERod over Kapanen for top line and top PP. Tells you all you need to know about Kapanen's start in a very interesting contract year.
I expected Heinen to stay in top 6 and ERod at 2C. Maybe DOC and ERod are both passing Heinen, at least at this moment? Still feel Heinen 100% has a spot if everyone is healthy and 3 guys come out? Not that Heinen has been bad at all, but competition is fierce right now. |

This is probably the only position I don't see him a need for right now. Erod, Rust, Kap, Heinen, McGinn, and Carter can all play that spot. Even Zucker has off wing experience. I just want to see DOC consistently get time in the lineup for at least 25 games. That should really give us a good sample of what he can do. |

I still think he 100% has a spot. I think ERod is being rewarded and we know Sully is not changing Blue's line, so there was really only one spot for Heinen to go.

It's not necessary. I'm just curious.

I admit I was wrong about Rodrigues. I said Blueger would outplay him before Crosby's return.
5v5 they each scored one goal and were on the ice for three goals.
All strengths ERod had three goals and was on the ice for a team leading eight goals. Blueger had two and five.
Defensively they were even at 4 goals against all strengths. But 5v5 was the big difference. Rodrigues didn't allow a goal while Blueger gave up three.

What’s the QoC? I’d imagine Blueger is a hell of a lot harder.
I n ow you specifically said by crosby’s return but I’d give it 20-25 games and see where things are at. Strong teams start off slow and vice versa all the time. As do players. But hopefully they can all keep it up. |

Right now, I wouldn't play Heinen if everyone was healthy. May change by then if it actually ever happens.

You may change guys around. I do think it's unrealistic to bench anyone on Blueger's line otherwise I'd consider benching McGinn. Sully is married to that shutdown line, especially Blueger and ZAR.
But in that top 9, who do you sit over Heinen? |

Heinen is tied for first in points. You want him out of the lineup? I think you know exactly who I sit lol

Whoever deserves to be benched. Give them a night or two off. Might help with injury prevention playing less too. Or just whoever needs extra rest. |

You would be better off putting Dan Boyle on your power play instead of Brian Boyle. - Feds91Stammer
A big guy infront of the goalies eyes >giving Crosby the option to pass the puck to Evan Rodriguez on the power play. I know he spunoramaed last night but he’s going to cool off quick. I think boyles only hat trick came against the pens maybe all three on the power play infront of the net. It’s a proven formula. |

Nothing wrong with that but I can see a DOC/Rod/Heinen rotation going whoever isn't on their game sits. |

I wouldn't be surprised to see Boyle at net front from time to time. With a full healthy lineup he probably won't be in every game. Maybe if the PP is getting stale and they need a net front. |

That's who I think are competing for two spots. Simon and Boyle too but I put them a little behind.
Not that we'll be healthy anyways, but interesting to discuss. |

He's tied for first with ERod and DOC, the two guys he's competing with.
Lol, I know who you'd sit, but it's actually 100% Sully isn't sitting ZAR. (I wouldn't either). And it won't be McGinn who just signed a big contract. Sid, Malkin, Jake, Rust, Zucker, Kap, Carter, and Blueger are also safe.
You'd sit ZAR, I might sit McGinn, but realistically Sully is going to sit one of ERod, DOC, and Heinen unless someone else plays like garbage. That's why I don't see Heinen as 100% in, he'll have to earn it. Good problem. |
