Um, he's out for the season. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Allison pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

I watched, i'm not nearly as critical on RR as yourself. I thought he played fine. I don't nitpick mistakes or i'd be here all day, every player makes some mistakes in the game.

Risto was excellent last night, did a great job clearing the slot area, won a ton of battles down low and looked really stable and comfortable, i.e. didn't rush anything. If he continues to play like this, the team will be very successful!

Interesting in the commentary they say hart was outstanding and that the flyers received A+ goaltending. I think hart was solid but that may be overstating it.

G was an absolute boss in the faceoff circle, the last shift prior to the EN. I could see why they were taking their shot at the EN; fully confident he would win the draw if they missed.

Very entertaining game last night. I rarely stay up for a left coast game; glad I did.

.

. Last year Attard was AHCA 1st team All American last year, nominated for the Hobie Baker, and named NCHC's best offensive defenseman. As a freshman he made the NCHC all rookie team

in the USHL in 2018-2019 he had 30 goals, 34 apples in 48 games. lead his team in points and tops for Dman league wide. He set a USHL record for most goals in a single season by a defenseman and won USHL Player of the Year, USA Hockey Junior Player of the Year, USHL Defenseman of the Year, USHL Best Plus/Minus (plus-46), and USHL First All-Star Team.

I have little doubt he could man the 3RD role especially considering he is 6'4 and probably playing at 215-220lbs right now.

Wow, he wasn't on my radar as a prospect but he is now. Not that I have any knowledge of prospects. Haven't heard much noise about him.

A lot of good things happen when you shoot the puck! Goalies don't always expect shots for farther out so you might get them before they are completely set, which was the case on Atkinson's 2nd goal of the game. This to me is the biggest difference with the Flyers so far this year, they are shooting a lot more and scoring. Its a mentality more than anything else. With Jake it seemed this team cared more about making a pretty play than getting pucks to the net. With Jake gone, the persona has shifted to shooting more and getting pucks to the high danger areas.
- jd250

The Flyers are shooting the puck but realistically, there is a lot of things that are very similar for this team this year with how things were in the early season last year. Some things have changed and some haven't. The Flyers do miss Voracek's transition play.

He was not good in the 1st IMO, looked small on both goals against, but the rest of the game I thought he looked strong.
- jd250

The only goal I had an issue with in the first period was the Barrie goal. The McDavid goal was a tough deflection. Hart made 4-5 really quality saves in that period and Edmonton could've lit it up in the first period if it wasn't for Hart.

Besides that one article I quoted a few days ago I have not heard or read anything about Allison. I have no idea what his status is, he is still listed as out indefinitely as far as I know. Wondering if Bill has heard anything?
- jd250

So now you've changed from you think he is out for the year because they were considering surgery to you have no idea what his status is?

Braun is playing well. Not sure how long he can sustain it playing top 4 minutes.
- hello it's me 2050

I said it last year and it's true so far this year. Braun is a bargain for what he does. Going forward I'd consider offering him another contract similar to the one that he's currently on. If younger players prove that they can be better, make Braun the 7. The team could use a good 7.

I thought Hart was very good. He and the team hadn't faced that kind of team in a long time. They all handled the pressure very well.

On the first two goals, Hart was deep in his crease and made himself small on both goals. Hart has a habit of cheating off the posts and teams around the league know it. In the 2nd and 3rd, I thought Hart was a lot better, but especially in the 3rd, I thought the Flyers did a very good job of limiting chances.

I think you are drastically overplaying it. I only saw the first period and he was not excellent in that period. The stats also don't say that he was excellent. The Flyers will not be very successful playing the way they did last night or the way they have played the last handful of games.

At his salary for a bottom pair dman is he good value. See how he pays the rest of the way. I can see him or Yandle back; not both.

Yeah. That goal he was way to far back into his net. I initially thought the mcdavid goal was weak but I don’t pin that on him now. He was pushing over in reaction to the shot and the tip messed it up.

Even on that deflection, I thought Hart was way too deep in his crease. If he was at the top of the crease, that deflected puck might have hit him. I agree Hart made some nice saves in the 1st period as well.

Hart didn't cheat off of the post on the McDavid goal. He reacted to where the puck was going on the attempted pass by McDavid to Puljujarvi in the slot and the puck deflected and changed direction.

I didnt write that as a way to make a jab at you, point of fact I didn't even look at who I was responding to. I was just piggy backing on your point about shooting mentality and Allison is one of our players who most definitely has a shoot first mentality.

As to his injury, I've had a high ankle sprain and am pretty familiar with the treatments and timelines of the injury.

As I've said its about pain management. The nature of the injury is that it cant be reinjured once it happens. Its all about how much pain he can take while playing on it. And playing on it wont increase the duration of the pain level or the injury itself. It gets better on its own.

If they WERE discussing surgery it most likely would have been in relation to a bone fracture that if it did happen would be on the fibula just below the knee. Once that fracture heals the tendon itself is the source of the pain.

At first the pain is almost unbearable. Especially for the first 2 or 3 weeks.

After a while it hurts but not enough to hamper him.

Add to that he has a professional hockey team medical staff to help him. Kind of like what happen to Terrell Owens when he returned after a month. That was amazing to me since I was on crutches for almost a month before I could even put weight on my leg.
