Seth Jones (much to the chagrin of many here) and Kirby Dach will be the leaders.

I never would have before, but I'd trade Toews and Kane. It was time to move on two years ago, but I never wanted to see either of them in another sweater. Now, the team will never get a fresh start with players that were here during that period, at least in the court of public opinion.

Sad days indeed.

- vabeachbear

I see them trading Jones. His NMC doesn’t kick in till next season. The Blackhawks are going to want to start over and if Jones ever had a chance to recover his career, by the time the Hawks rebuild he’ll be even worse then he is now.

Ben Pope Chicago Sun-times:
Overmatched defenseman Seth Jones’ eight-year, $76 million contract doesn’t kick in until next season. Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane have only one year left on their contracts after this season and are arguably no longer centerpieces to build around, anyway.

This is the first and probably last I'll post on this subject. IMO Q being oblivious to this, or anything else, at the time is one of the things that makes him as winning a coach as he is. This is the kinda guy who misses the birth of his kid cuz he has a game that day.

For better or worse I see Q as the kind of athlete/coach that the most important thing on earth on game day is the team and he has the professional success to back that up.

Stood next to him between periods outside at a Steel game after a cup yr, I was having a smoke he was smoking a cigar with a few buds (sat 2 rows below me with his wife and daughter). Congratulated him on the cup win and shook his hand. His handshake will make your eyes bulge and his hand engulfs yours all the way up to your forearm.

Dude has a helluva presence, kinda guy you meet you never forget.

Would see Q, Konroyd and Murray at the youth hockey games of their kids and mine.

No, the interview certainly doesn’t put the team in a good light.

It was powerful. My heart goes out to him and the other victim and their families. I think there are going to be more actions after this.

Or, you do the right thing and report it immediately!! Q always said, “nobody likes winning more than me!!” Q was going to keep his mouth shut because winning the Cup was more important to him than John Doe. Q and Kevin C. should suffer the consequences too, IMO. No excuses should be made for any of these guys, what these guys did was terrible and immoral by choosing not to address it once they heard about it. These coaches and executives are as cut-throat as it gets, and will stop at nothing in order to win. Morals go out the window for all of them when they have a chance at the ultimate prize!!

Yea, if you remember just popping the much smaller Olimb wasn't enough for Beach. He had to rag doll the kid and slam him to the ice. Beach was a big dude man with some damn nimble feet and buttery soft hands. NHL skills no doubt.
- Mr Ricochet

If I remember correctly Olimb came back at him for a 2nd tilt and that's when his shoulder blew. I disagree he was NHL material for a number of reasons, and I never liked him after that day. Felt bad for Olimb, he got abused. But years later I now feel bad for Beach. Like Trob said, go read up on Chico Adrahtas. (frank) these monsters.

It’s pretty ugly. Quenneville’s interview with Bettman won’t be comfortable after this

I don’t care how big of a knot-head Beach was, nobody should have gone through what he did!! Do not play Beach as the bad guy, the Hawks drafted him, they have every responsibility to try to develop him as a player and take care of him. The Hawks failed miserably at the latter. He reached out for help and was ignored, totally unacceptable from the organization. I said at the time this happened, heads needed to roll if proven the Hawks were aware of what went down. Frankly, I am glad they did.

Better start some serious fence-mending ASAP!! No more cheesy commercials, but actually show this organization is human and will do everything in their power to prevent things like this from ever happening again, and make sure the fans understand that they care. Very embarrassing day to be a Hawks fan!!

Heartbroken for Kyle Beach.

Cannot say more for that young man. It's a hard video so watch with caution

Absolutely disgusted with the Hawks and the NHL. Done.

Q as of this afternoon is still denying he knew anything. Bowman and Beach say he did. Wonder if Torchetti said Q knew also. Either way, I think his coaching career is in jeopardy.

As it should be, I wonder if Haviland was fired because he was upset with Q ignoring it. Q is just as guilty as the rest of the top brass!!

As it should be...

I thought I would be able to get through this as a fan...but after watching this interview I don't know if I can watch another blackhawk game.

This team was the first thing my son and I bonded over when he was 5...he played a decade of hockey because of this team and now I want to puke.Take care everyone...I'm out

I get that. However, since McD left last year, there has to be something - even if not case related.
- Tanuki

Maybe not. McD doesn't strike me as an email type of guy.

He's more like the ex-Illinois speaker of the house Mike Madigan. Any plans or deals were verbal, one-on-one or transmitted through intermediaries. Hell, Madigan that little doctor Evil, didn't even carry a cellphone.

Anyway, game on in less than 30 minutes.

Have a hard time seeing how Q can survive.

Bettman has no choice but to tell him to resign. Not sure he makes it until that interview.

Wondered at the time why Haviland was let go, be interesting to see what others say if anything.

Lol as a lawyer I love playing devil's advocate. I think the fact his name went on the Cup would indicate it was not being taken care of....yet no one said anything. The "I thought it was taken care of" or "I did not know" is not a very good defense.

I am not talking about everyone either. I am talking about upper management and the coaching staff.

Is someone honestly going to tell me McD could fire someone from upper management or Q or any of the major parts of the coaching staff without Rocky's approval? Don't buy it for a second. All of those guys had employment contracts.

That person would turn around and sue the Hawks for improper termination and that scandal would explode on the spot.

If Q went to Rocky and told him you think McD is going to fire Q in the middle of the playoffs? NO CHANCE

- bhawks2241

It almost seems as if McD--or someone in management--was making a concerted effort to prevent Rocky from learning about the scandal. This would explain why Aldrich was not immediately let go, and why he was allowed to have his day with the cup and his name engraved upon it, given a cup ring, etc. It would also explain why he was given the choice of resigning or being investigated.

Me to. This is certainly a huge blow to the brand, but its how they move forward that i will judge them on.
