2 minor details missed, Lindholm is tied with Mangi and Ovi in goals and you can't blame Vladar for the second goal as his mask had come loose on the prior shot and the refs ignored him... - Nomad2112
He has to learn the greasy hair head shake that Mike Smith has perfected. Can't say I blame him for not doing it. You have no mask with a puck being fired around, but the ref will blow it dead when they see the mask is off.

Oilers have had a sweet schedule to start the season. Koskinen's play iis unsustainable, McBaby has to slow down eventually.
Would love to see the two Alberta teams go neck and neck all season. Need to bring that hate back to the rivalry. Alberta be known as Death Valley for opposing teams.
The Battle of Alberta is priceless and great for the NHL. |

Yet the Flames play is? Christ man, pace yourself. It's a long season that's only a couple of weeks in. Hold off on the Norris ballots for Guddy at least. |

Our success in FA pickups in recent years has been less than stellar. The fact one is working out is nothing short of a miracle for this team. My comment was based on the "experts" saying the Oilers are the real thing. Hell the news is either how poopty the Leafs are or how McDavid and company are as good as the Oilers teams of the 80's.
We've won 4 in a row. Season starts for this team would normally be one win in 6 games so forgive the optimism...

Looking forward to seeing the next game against the Oil. Looks like Dec. 27. Long wait.
Some random thoughts
I am not trying to place any huge expectations on this team. I am just enjoying the current streak and effort they are putting in.
1) Monahan
I am hoping that Sutter being patient with Monahan pays off in the long term. Monahan learning the grinder role while playing fewer minutes is not a bad thing. Gives him time to find his game. Mange and Lindholm being hot take some heat off of him. Reading about addiction and hockey one has to wonder if all the painkillers Monahan took might have affected him.
2) Zadorov
He is another player that seems like he will benefit from having time to learn. I believe Gudbranson played for Sutter before? Not sure. Zadorov watching the games from above and earning the spot in practice will only make him a better defender.
With Covid never a bad thing to have options.
3) Richardson
What happens when he is healthy and ready to play? Where does he slot in?
4) Mange
Does Mang get a look with Backs and Coleman? |

No problem enjoy. Early wins are important. My post was more directed at Special K-man. He's been on a rip the last couple of days over in our thread.

Would prefer Monahan play with some talent so he could get confident in his offense again. The Flames will need him when Mangiapane comes back to reality (which is still going to be really good) and Lindholm slows down. Everything is going in right now and it's great but they can't keep this pace forever and I fear that Monahan playing with Lucic and Lewis is hindering his confidence more than it's helping. Sure, he's forechecking better and is a little more defensively aware but at what cost? I'd like to see Monahan shoot every time he gets the puck in the O zone. He's still looking for that extra pass and with the guys he's saddled with it just isn't there.
Gudbranson kind of played for Sutter with Anaheim when Darryl was Eakins' special advisor. |

Monahan still seems pretty slow out there. I think part of the reason he is with Lucic and Lewis is that they are also, pretty slow out there.

Lucic has been flying out there...especially compared to how slow Monahan looks
I hope monny finds his game again. If he can get rolling, our team will be that much better for it |

We pay him extra to troll you guys. You're the rare balanced Canucks poster here. It'll be nice having some meaningful games with the Oil and Nucks soon. We miss Nucker and Bloated coming on here and talking poop...

Two things I thought I'd never hear again, Lucic breakaway... How's Neal doing with the Oilers this year?

Best time to play the Penguins with all their injuries and such. 5 out of 5 on the road at the end of October would be the start we have sorrowly been lacking for years now. The team is starting to find chemistry now, I don’t think they need to be changing the current line ups anytime soon. We have a good balance of time on ice per player now as well. Feels good to be on the right side of the ledger to finish October!

What? More like the last couple months. You're just starting to notice now?
My A-Z list was just a repost of all the complaining in there. I've read quietly, enjoying all the complaining that's been going on, both the legit and not so legit.
Btw I am special, thanks for noticing. |
