I don't think Lindgren meets the skill level you want in a captain.
- JRR1285

I think very quietly he is one of the better stay at home D-men in the entire league. Maybe will never be a superstar, but I'm not sure that he doesn't have the skill either.

I'm not sold on that. Fox/Lindy are fine. Trouba and Miller are fine. The third pairing I could part with and bring Jones and Schneider up as those two work great together already.
- mames11

I could get on board with Lindgren. He wasn’t in the 6 group tho, so that seems highly unlikely

I think that's fair. He definitely takes care of his own end efficiently. He just does not have much offense to his game.

He’s very sneaky in the ozone tho. That goal vs Ottawa was sweet. Him and Fox share a brain at times it looks like. Very in tune with each other

i think he picked up a lot from Fox in terms of zone breakouts and getting a little adventurous on offense

It probably is an unfair comparison, but if in theory you'd have ever been willing to give Beuke the C, you shouldn't have that hesitation with Lindgren. I see them both as leaders on the ice.

Also, as great as Cally was, he wasnever really a superstar either. You could make the argument that Cally's level of play was at a higher level than what Lindgren's will ever be, but as you said, Lindgren seems to just have this connection with Fox, and he chips in from time to time.

Nils hasn’t blown my doors off, not sure how others feel..but one of him, Robertson or Jones should be traded for some forward, preferably center, depth. LA NEEEEEEEDS defensemen big time. They just lost 2 of them to injury

I still wouldn’t trade Schneider tho. He’s the one player, not on the current roster, I would deem untouchable

Trade Libor for Lias

On another note...to stir things up, can anyone see Kravtsov and another (Gauthier) going to the Wild for Zucc and a pick? Wild aren't contending with the monster dead cap hit for three seasons starting next year. Rangers could use a super skilled winger to get the offense rolling and the Wild should rebuild for the next few seasons.

60% on faceoffs lol and he isn’t much of a commitment with two years left

It’s all moot anyway, I don’t see the rangers going there anymore. I had no idea about this assault news until after I was goo goo for him lol

- Slimtj100

Right 10mil per isnt much of a commitment.

Zucc's time has passed and Id rather trade VK for another young player.

Yeah, I noticed that Beach played for the Wolfpack in 2014. Kinda interesting that he was with the organization.

Whatever the issue is with Panarin, it’s been going on since the leave of absence he took last year. Looking at him on the bench after a shift, he looks winded as though he may not be in the greatest shape.

Question. Why weren’t the Rangers interested in Sam Bennet?

- OLDSCHOOL#6

I only first felt the need to mention this "Panarin looking winded after shifts" concern last Saturday following their late 3rd period 3 goals within 3:20 comeback win at Ottawa, along with him appearing to play "tentative." (That was on Jan's then still current extended days' run blog of their win at Nashville.) I stated then of Panarin appearing "worn or even "dazed" looking" on the bench after some shifts when shown; especially the one in starting the 3rd period 4 on 4; if not also appearing greatly upset with himself after that shift over yet another of his surprising misplays of this early season.

That was one of a dozen or so occasions this season where Panarin attempted forcing an unwarranted horizontal pass at the opposition's left side blueline towards the middle, (some even fully cross ice mainly while on the powerplay). That specific one lead again to a rush in the Rangers zone resulting in Ottawa's second of 2 goals, despite it being the one Georgiev should have stopped. After the goal, Panarin was visibly winded & dazed looking on the bench. Hopefully his injury suffered late last season with Tom Wilson rag-dolling him down to the ice didn't include some type of head injury. That after coming to the rescue of his buddy Buch, who Wilson initially attacked when simultaneously having his stick under Buch's neck while he was down on the ice by the Caps goal crease, as if wanting to severely injure him.

Panarin was upset over his buddy Buch in turn being dealt away after his best season as a Ranger. In addition to the great chemistry Panarin and Strome have as line mates, the RW to ever mesh best in overall play on their line was the earlier departing F.A. Jesper Fast. That dating back prior to Fast's injury suffered in the first game of their quick 1st Round playoff loss to the Canes in the Summer of 2020 at the "bubble" when the first of two shorter Pandemic regular seasons resumed play directly with the playoffs with them being a deserved of additional teams added due to their late season push cut 10+ games short & just a few points by the Pandemic.

To be clear, the ONLY way I trade for Toews is if they retain 50%. It’s the only way it would work for us. And Kravtsov has to be the guy going to the Hawks

But what with is going on now, I don’t think it’s a wise move any longer lol. He basically stated publicly how much Bowman and Macissac have helped throughout his career. Defending them essentially. That no bueno. If you feel that way you keep it to yourself. Rangers don’t need any bad PR, and anyone associated with that team is tainted forever imo

Apparently Beach was bullied by some of his teammates back then with derogatory stuff. Sopel and Boynton have both backed that fact up, as Beach stated. As captain he needed to do more for Beach and he didn’t

- Slimtj100

There's no way, even if sufficient salary cap space were available, that the Rangers would now want to acquire Toews, or any other current or former Blackhawk still playing from their 2009/10 Cup winning season, given the heroics of Kyle Beach coming forward as the John Doe. They don't need any outside hockey controversy here.

For just one, your all time favorite wanted here for many seasons, in later being a retiring cancer survivor in Bryan Bickell was a Hawk with that team. There's no way that any then Hawks player, coaching staff member, trainer, or anyone else associated directly with them, could not have known their own then video coach in Brad Aldrich was a wanted suspect back then for a very serious suspected crime. They should all be first banned from the NHL if found involved in some criminal conspiracy means in this extended coverup.

Toews, who appeared last night when interviewed after the Hawks OT loss to the Leafs, still to be hiding something per his looks and words spoken on the matter; should be worried the most of any Hawks player back then for also being their "Captain."

Pete Rose was banned completely from MLB due to gambling even on his own team's games in his post playing days while managing the Reds; in addition to having his once deserved MLB records from his playing days results for his Hall Of Fame entry be prevented in turn.

What does the NHL do with Toews, and possibly others of HOF playing merit in Kane, and Keith for two on that team? Bettmann needs a lot of explaining to do himself on the matter, along with Donald Fehr & the NHLPA.

I'm a little uncomfortable holding players accountable for a lot of stuff, unless they were actively involved in whatever. There's a certain culture in hockey (not saying it's right), but there would have been immense pressure in that locker room had it been known, to keep it down. It's easy to say that the team captain should have done more to squash the thing, but these are young men that would probably be fearful of repercussions from management, or even negative sentiment from their own teammates for breaking the code.

Towes’ statement was completely tone deaf and not what your captain should be saying. You want to say you were lung and should have it handled it better, 100% agreed. But to make the comments on Bowman etc. given all that transpired to me showed a lack of accountability and knowledge.

It's possible they didn't know. Often, victims of rape keep it silent because it's embarrassing to them. Especially in an environment where there would be a fear of reprisal. It's likely that they heard some rumors, but were just that.

Understood, but focus here should be on the victim not the others.
