He's going to make more than $4.5m on his next contract which probably prices him out of here but we're kind of in a rough spot with that. Panarin loves him, he produces almost a point per game (when the team isnt broken), and we are paper thin at C without him. They could maybe find a way to squeeze him in there with the other free agents we have to resign but we'd have to find a way to move at least one pretty immovable contract somehow (kreider, trouba, goodrow). No one is going to like this but lindgren is the only sizable enough contract we could use to clear space for anyone (not just strome) without worrying about a NTC/NMC

lol.
I noticed that when I looked at this situation earlier. But, I didn't even want to put his name down!!

True

Seriously, Chytils spot is fairly easily replaceable. Like I said we could regret it, but that’s a nice chunk of savings for someone else. I really had a tough time keeping him in the top 9 w/Toews there anyway

Blais-Toews-Kreider

Or

Kreider-Toews-Blais

is just fine imo

To save money…And I’m clearly in the minority with this…but I still don’t expect Foxy to ASK for the moon from the rangers THIS summer (rangers still have some leverage w/ him being an RFA too). Definitely do not get that greedy vibe from him. Suppose they say “hey foxy… we want player x but in order to get that guy, we need you to take 2.5 mil less than you’re worth” and in a few years will hit you up again

Players do things no one expects too, for the good of the team or whatever. See Kevin Labanc

Fox might want to do it but no way NHLPA lets a player who won the Norris sign for 2.5 million less AAV than they should, would set players back.

Everyone went nuts when Kevin Labanc signed a 1 yr $1m contract in SJ 2 years ago

Yeah, too bad that Fox has the same agent as Kreider, we're getting bent over a barrel no lube, sand paper finish.

I hope to the hockey gods they find a way to get him somewhere 8.5/9 mil AAV but I feel like each game another 25K-50K gets added to the AAV because he's been a stud again.

Tonight on @SportsCentre
we're joined by John Doe, the former Blackhawks player at the centre of the team's sexual abuse scandal.
He has asked us to reveal his identity and you will hear him speak his truth. It's a privilege to offer a platform to someone with such courage.

Gonna be on TSN tonight but yea, the Blackhawks org is really stupid for that

Players realize the current cap situation hampers some things a little. It’s a factor. Couple that with who the player is, and is living his dream, it’s not this impossibility that you all are claiming it is. Either way the man is getting paid, how much is the question.

Shesty contract gives me hope for a similar deal. They’ve both been equally ballyhooed since we got them. I do realize the Norris trophy def is an issue with my argument tho

Man that was raw. Thank god the right people finally believe him.
How Quennville hasn’t gotten fired, force him to resign, yet is beyond me. If it doesn’t happen by tonight, Florida should be ashamed. I know it’s a tough pill to swallow for them, but cmon this guy can no longer ever run a hockey team. Cheveldayoff also

So, Subban did intentionally trip Reaves. Rangers should show the tape on the scoreboard, then show this, then beat on him some more next time.

Stick a fork in Quennville. He won’t last the week.

Unrelated. I Remember someone telling me a few years back, how much better a player Oscar Lindbergh was than Anthony Duclair. Well, Duclair is a vital member of the Florida Panthers, where in the world is Lindbergh?

Yeah, AV never gave Duclair a shot. Word was he didn’t have the best work habits, but he could sure skate.

After the cup win to have this video coach hold the cup. Pics with the cup. Took the cup to a school with kids around. Is almost criminal to have allowed that to happen

It did take Duclair a few places to finally succeed tho. To be fair. A few orgs gave up on him.

He’s gonna lose probably the his best coach ever tho. Who got the best out of him I mean

Very true, it’s possible he finally gets it. The Panthers look very strong, Duclair is part of what appears to be a very tough team to play against.

The sad irony of it is that Quennville allegedly didn’t want to disrupt team chemistry back in 2010 when it looked like they could make a cup run. Now because of him the panthers chemistry is going to be tested 11 years later

It’s going to be very upsetting for the club when they lower the boom on Quenneville, but the team is very talented, I’m sure someone already on the staff will take over.

They either didn’t give a shyt, or didn’t believe him. Knowing the hockey mentality, Quenneville probably wondered why he just didn’t beat the crap out of him. Times have changed.
