Neither are being traded.
Even stars have down years.
I remember people on here saying ov was done cause he had a down year in goals.......he still scored 30 or so. - Fakepartofme
Marner will be traded. It’s a matter of when not if.
Probably at the draft. When was the Subban/Weber trade? |

He hasnt proven that.
He produced while playing with bozak and on the 3rd line.
He produced more with a quality C though, which he would be playing with no matter where he went.
Ooh only 2 more years before the nmc kicks in? Dubie might not even be here for that. Lol - Fakepartofme
They’ll move Matthews before him.
Because if they’re dumping off their “stars” he won’t want to stick it out in Toronto during a rebuild of sorts, move Marner, Rielly likely gone, JT is aging, the D aging as well except for Sandin and Liljegren….. I guess he’s have Nylander still but I doubt that’s enough |

Nah, its 10 games. Gimme a break
He if turns it on and does well in the playoffs, hes not going anywhere.
If he sucks and sucks in the playoffs, the return could be what dozzer mentioned. Which is not when you trade someone |

Surprise, a marner hater wouldn't trade for marner.
Lol - Fakepartofme
I don't hate him. why would I?
but if I build a team, I take Tkachuk before him. easily. players like Tkachuk are hard to find. Marner, as good as he is (and he's very good), is more easily replacable imo. easier to find. |

Fine. 4 yr 24mill.
He’s staying in Toronto. - TurdFergeson
Why would someone from the west coast take a discount to stay on the opposite side of the country for a team that looks like it has been severely incorrectly?
I’ll honestly be shocked if Vancouver or Seattle don’t offer him over 8 a year |

Easier to find a 90 plus pt player?
Not sure about that.
Its taking the leafs decades to find another one. |

90 pts while playing with an elite center.
I prefer what Tkachuk brings. to each his own.
obviously I'm not alone, many want to trade for him! |

The best time to trade him would be at the deadline to a true competitor who lost a top 6 winger due to injury. Other than that I highly doubt he’ll get a great return. |

After seeing hyman get 7 years, reilly wont be signing for 4 years.
Hes from the west but his home has been here for almost a decade. |

But i guess it could be done. |

agreed, he'll sign for 6-7 years. not sure it will be as high as 8M though. that would be a mistake. |

He and the lady aren’t leaving Toronto. He will take a discount. Get a NMC and will sign a team friendly deal. |

I think you said for a pick and a prospect, correct? I’m curious what you see as the pitch to Matthews about the direction of the team when they start negotiations with him? The prospect will be really good, soon. We”ll find someone else who wants to sign here who’s a top scorer? |

Just looked it up, him and his gf live in North Vancouver
He likely simply has a home here so he’s not renting… he’ll just sell it |

Like I said, one point lower than Nurse who just got $9.25 million a year |

Oh no, the moment the leafs choose to trade one of the 10 million + players their teammates will consider the team is going into at least a minor rebuild so if they do trade one get picks/prospects back and maybe some low key guy to take their spot over in the lineup |

Nurse did have a fairly significant better plus/minus but he’s also always on the ice while McDavid is soooooo…….. lol |
