why I said reasonable, they have no need to adjust but on an icing or if they need a goal, they for sure could match it up
- wcorvette

They both get double shifted like crazy. There won't be a Flyer that doesn't see a steady diet of #97 and/or #29.

What a deal Edmonton got Draisaitl on. Then you look to Toronto and see Mitch Marner making $10M, yikes...

Marner playing like he did in the playoffs…invisible.

Rubstov, Bunnaman, Cates, and Ratcliffe a total combined 0 points in 4 games. Add in Frost and you get a whopping 1 assist.

I was all set to buy the AHL package….but I’m holding off…

Apparently 31 teams dodged the Seth Jones bullet. Seems the book on how to beat the 'Hawks early on is to just target Jones' side of the ice mercilessly.

Read this today on BroadStreetHockey:

More potential good news is that Wade Allison is a few weeks away from a potential return and could either jump in to provide a spark to the fourth line or the return of Hayes bumps down a veteran to help provide a boost.

If this is true, I am very relieved, very happy for Allison, and happy to be wrong about Allison coming back this season. The article did not site a source so Bill it would be nice if you can confirm this or not.

Yup, this is why I have posted that I would rather have three $6M solid defenders vs. 1 $9.5M defender and a bunch of crap after him.

Yes, by me :-) When I had read that they were considering surgery, I perceived it was a complete tear of the ligament which typically takes a very long time to heal and come back from. If this statement from the article I read today is indeed true, that means the tear was no where near as severe which is a very good thing for Allison and the Flyers.

I know we only saw Allison for a few games last year, but I liked what saw. I hope this kid heals up soon and we see him in the NHL this season? It would be nice to finally get some good health news from the Flyers, instead of the steady stream of injuries that we have seen since the Pre-season.

Yes, the article I was reading was about how poorly the 4th line has been playing, and the hope is when Allison and Hayes come back the 4th line should get better. However the conclusions about the current 4th line made where not correct IMO. First the article stated the MacEwen has not helped the situation, and that the line was at least even with Willman in there instead. Well the problem with this take is look at the competition difference between who Willman played against (Vancouver, Seattle) and who MacEwen played against (Boston, Florida). Secondly the article states the possession metrics on the 4th line are terrible, but this is not isolated to the 4th line! The entire team's possession metrics are terrible this season so far. That is what happens when the other team is starting in your end 65+% of the time!

So a coach is going to look for matchups after an icing or if they need a goal. Thanks for the insight
- ClaudeFather

wasn't about the ability to do it, it was about the matchup against Nate and the 4th line.

We already have that information. We already know that it was not of the severe level. When it was determined weeks ago that he did not need surgery. This information was relayed to you repeatedly yet you stuck to your guns that you believed he was out for the season.

It’s interesting that you don’t hear a peep about Covid in the NFL but the NHL is already getting hit hard.

Thank you for proving my point. It seems as though you are bloviating.
My position is that Frost is a highly skilled player who missed a full calendar year of hockey and needs some time to get back up to speed. Playing on a poor team, which the Phantoms appear to be, doesn't help
- MJL

Excuses are like A$$$holes...you know the rest.
What do you have as proof of this high skill, other the in Juniors?
A good player can handle missing time, he has had all summer to get to speed and skill back. Plus rookie camp plus regular camp. Stop trying to put a square peg into a round hole.
I guess we will see who is a better drunk GM.
Again my bet he isn't up for more then 10 games.
What do you say GM genius?

Not necessarily. Devante Adams is on protocol and Matt Nagy, Bears coach, tested positive. But to your point, it's stuff that scrolls across the bottom not so much talked about.
