How much is he hoping for a new GM/coach combo ASSP? - PatShart
I'm thinking everybody is No ?
I'd hope they'd look right to NY Islanders front office and coaching staff. Trotz has a proven record of teaching successful defensive teams. His assistants must have learned from him by now.
Offense starts with great defense. We all know that.
It's the perfect time to clean house including JC.

(Can THIS end the political banter??)
Theres plenty of Hawk issues to cover
Jones. Strome. Murphy....
I have plenty of JC thoughts you can disagree with as well - PatShart
Ok by me.
On JC, I think today's news took the starch out of that issue as well. Unless the new GM is JC's mother, he's toast. Not even his father would keep him at this point. |

There is no rehab per say but it’s for a retired 64 year old. It will take him 6-8 weeks before he can resume his normal activities. I’m sure an athlete would recover more quickly and would rehab for it. - paulr
I see... thanks, all
yeah, that's a long time out for someone like Kane who might take a few weeks off the ice each year in total

The coach has to also have to players to run whatever system
They need a coach that can mold the teams talent into the best system, IMO
Like when Nagy was going to run the KC offense....he didnt bring Kelce, Hill and co. with him.

Instead he and Isaacson coordinated an attack on the victim. And the mental health "professional" should no longer have a license, not that it matters much to him now. Those guys actively tried to hurt the victim. To me, what Stan did (or more specifically, didn't do) pales in comparison. Yet he will be the one affected by the blackball more than those old guys.
But, it's a fresh start for hockey ops. It is Danny's show now; hopefully he is ready. I will be giving the new GM the same benefit of the doubt I gave Stan, and hoping for success. - mohel
I read the whole report and I didn't get any sense of anyone coordinating an attack on the victim. In fact, there is nothing even remotely along those lines. We have the value of hindsight to make our judgments. There never was a clear, definitive statement of sexual assault. It was referred to as inappropriate conduct between coach and player. Except fo the skating coach and he never seemed to relay the correct information to anyone else.
Once it reached the HR department, it was handled swiftly. The timing to get to that point is a bad look. |

That's what I wonder if after all this today...does Danny just keep Davidson - and keep JC until years end....as they are under contract
Then in the off season (or towards middle/end of year) let a new GM evaluate (fire) and hire his own person? |

I have more of a problem with the whole damn team backing all the way into the goalie's lap. - Elbows15
Also agreed, but this system has been doing that for years. Even the cup years they backed in a ton, but we had Cro and 4 good defensemen to use their sticks for deflections or clear rebounds. And if you watch the Ice Hogs, it's exactly the same. Back in Back in give uo high quality point blank shots and expect GREAT Goaltending to keep the game close.
My question has always been....who started this defensive scheme in the first place ? It's irritating as hell because our opponents stand up to our rushes at the Center Line often times.
Hopefully a new regime can implement a more staunch system.

How/why McD didnt do anything disgusts me.
I can "understand" (not excuse) Q focusing on trying to win his first cup after how long, has his ulcer issues etc.
McD when it hit his desk should have brought the hammer of God against that POS - and this whole thing would have been under some sort of control. This was literally why McD and his cronies were there and the only "help" they could/would have provided the team - had they acted appropriately
After that, it turned into failure after failure.
Hopefully they can all be better today than they were then. |

A brief scan of the interwebs had 4 to 6 weeks generally, with a couple sites going 3 months. A hockey player probably misses 3 weeks, eh? |

I would think he would want someone in place by the Olympicbreaj, gives the new GM about 2 months to evaluate before the TDL

According to Powers and Lazerus, there is definitely a chance Davidson becomes the permanent GM. Seems he was possibly being groomed for the position. |

Who's the senior hockey mind in the organization now? Maciver? Wondering who's going to counsel Danny as to who becomes the permanent GM. Will the Hawks follow the Bears model and hire a search firm or consultant? |

Yeah, that could be, especially if the GM target is unavailable until then. But if the target is available, I think they would like to turn the page as quick as possible. It'll be good to follow for awhile. |

No one would have given two poops if a video coach was released during that time. I doubt would have even warranted more than a line in a story. That is crux of this whole sordid mess. (frank)ing fool was protecting something never in danger. |

I’d assume a hockey player recovers significantly more quickly than a 64 year old.

Scotty Is still a senior advisor. Pierre Gauthier has been a GM in Ottawa, Montreal, and Anaheim, but I can’t see him being a viable candidate |

No one would have given a poop about a video coach being released, but you know they would have given a poop why he was released. It doesn’t excuse sweeping it under the carpet but that’s why it was I’d guess. |

Wasn't aware he was being groomed. Could be. Any corporation has a sucession plan on file. It would be the same if a replacement is needed if Bowman died of a heart attack or in an auto accident. |

It's so hard to get over that. I would like to get McD alone in a room and find out why.
I'm certain he cared about his own legacy and how this would look if it ever got out under "his watch". Where if he had 1 hair of ethics on his body - doing the right thing would have scored many points, maybe even changed some minds.
He is a snake and slithered away as quickly as he slithered into the hockey world. |
