Scotty Bowman named head coach.
- rpeters01

Scotty would be telling LaPointe, Robinson and Savard to shut em down. And bumming a smoke off of Lafleur

So Stan "stepping aside" means his contract is void?

(just thinking about the discussion yesterday re: Hawks owners not wanting to spend money on dual GMs or coaches)

- pdx2ord

I wouldn’t be shocked if he was financially compensated for “stepping aside” quietly.

I’m guessing there was - or will be - some kind of negotiated settlement with Bowman - he signed a new contract last year, I think.

Stan will come out of this with a decent amount of cash.

I'm figuring that will happen, but maybe it'll be off the Hawks books/under the table.

Maybe he did but I amsure he was on their radar before Hoss mentioning him. One thing the Hawks do right is their Euro scouts.
- Elbows15

Yeah, I trust the scouts too. It just stuck out to me because he added Tarasenko tried getting the Blues to sign Panarin as they were buds/teammates.

I wouldn't be so sure about Bowman being compensated. Not that I personally care too much about it. Danny looked pretty embarrassed and pissed in his statement.

Bowman is now officially out at team USA also.
- Ogilthorpe2

So did that mean our trade for Seth Jones didn't happen? It'd be nice if it didn't

Pass the buck Stan. McCub is certainly culpable here, but Bowman is a giant weasel for really not accepting his role in failure to report this to the PROPER authorities. I guess ole' Stanley was just following orders of his boss. (frank) off Bowman.

I would have so much more respect for this piassant if he would just OWN it. I SCREWED UP by not reporting it. When McDoffus failed to report it I SHOULD HAVE done so. Do THAT and you salvage whatever integrity you had.

- kwolf68

Yeah really just tell people you screwed up.

When something is wrong and you take it to your boss you aren't instantly free of any responsibility. You just have your boss involved now. If they don't do anything about it you go beyond them. Period.

Stan has a contract - don’t know what would it says about termination, but unless Rocky wants another litigation out of this, he’s making a settlement with Bowman.

Shocker. Wolfie continues his long held hate for Stan.

And not a peep about Q. Another shock.

Hey, if we can retroactively install a duty to follow up on your boss, we can call it "cause" and terminate the contract, too. While we're at it, let's make sure we ruin the guy's career - we got our skin on the wall.

I don’t think they need cause since Stan stepped aside. He wasn’t fired. Not officially. Not legally. Apparently legal is all that matters in your world.

Have you never followed up on your boss?

Have you never been in a meeting with your boss and come out being like "They say they're going to handle it but I better keep an eye on this and make sure it gets done?"

I believe Q has a meeting with Betteman on his calendar

I would expect his career may be winding down.

Has anyone had a contract before? There's always language in there for companies to get out of it, always.
