I had never seen the porta potty 100 meter dash....what Nascar race was that at ?

I'm happy the boys got a couple wins......against crappola beat up injured opponents.
The other games are still much more concerning. Including the black hawks win...which should have been by 8 goals

getting Vegas without Stone, Pacioretty, Martinez, and others was very fortuitous for sure.

Wasn't Nascar, it was the infield at the Preakness back when they used to let it be a full-on poopshow

I dunno...that's what some are saying on Twitter. He gets a slight raise, too:

I mean if it's a two-way deal that's pretty good, otherwise I do not understand this one at all

Ryan Reaves gets $1.75 MM, playing a similar role on the Rangers. Chara may not make it through the season.

With the labor market the way it is, the cost for locker room temperature takers is at an all-time high.

It's not a big deal, I just don't understand it. If it's a two-way deal then that makes more sense but I haven't seen that reported

Nevermind, that was an entirely irrelevant thought

Pretty sure a two-way deal won't prevent him from having to pass through waivers if he is sent down to B'port. And I believe Lou has expressed concern in the past about someone claiming Ross, so I don't think he is getting sent down.

Edit: Just saw your edit. Never mind.

That's why I edited it. He could be stashed in the minors with no cap hit but they're obviously reluctant to lose him on waivers so it was a pointless thought.

OR they're doing this specifically so nobody in the right mind would claim a borderline-13th forward with four years remaining on his deal

In all seriousness, I think Ross fills his (very limited) role just fine. Heck, sometimes he's more noticeable out there on the forecheck than anyone on the top two lines.

I think four years is too long and $1.1m is too much. So, I like the player; not crazy about the contract.

I would think he plans on resigning Clutterbuck to a short term deal but maybe as a cheaper replacement to Clutter albeit his offside? Also, maybe this gives him negotiating power with clutterbuck? That’s all I got.

My guess is Lou/Barry don't want to lose Clutterbuck and won't. Maybe they do something like they did with Casey where the term seems goofy but he takes a somewhat-significant pay cut. Tough to argue against their success when that line is together so I think it would be smart to keep him around.

They'll have some cap space to play with next offseason, so I wouldn't be surprised to go shopping for a LD to fill the void that currently exists there.

I think Johnston’s contract has more to do with him being a good soldier and doing what is asked. Stepping in when needed and sitting on the side lines when he’s not. Both Lou and trotz are loyal to their players. Also, he probably fits in better then anyone else as a fill in on that fourth line. Don’t get me wrong the term and amount are a bit perplexing for what we get out of him but I see the reasoning.

Edit; and yes I agree with you about clutterbuck

In today's market 1.1 M for a veteran role player is fair along with the long term security of a 4 yr deal.

With the Avg NHL salary at $2.5 + million I would agree, especially on a two way deal.
