In fairness to Sanderson, he did have two 30+ goal seasons and one of 25 after he left Buffalo.

That Skinner contact has been horrible since day 1. Good teams let good players walk when it makes sense. We held on for dear life and shot ourselves in the foot. Paying that dude 9 mil is outrageous even if he was scoring 40 goals a year

The first red flag was we got him on such a good deal.

Seth Jones has put up the worst performance of any D man in a game this season.

I have no comment on any other player listed

He doesn't though, he is a shifty skater but I never thought of him as a speedy guy.

He relies on his skating and edge work.

His style of play should be fine for 29, but he isn't much without an elite center to feed him tap ins

It might help him if he just found a hole instead of trying to stick handle through 3 players.

Regardless, he absolutely will score 20 goals again. But he will mostly be a 20-goal, 40-50 point guy until the contract is up. Maybe he stays and plays it out, who knows?

IMO he has a very small window to do that in say 3 years i fully expect the likes of Peterka Rosen Plotapov etc to be top 6 over him... he wont score 20 in a limited role in a few years.

Most people tend to forget home town discounts only go to winning teams. When a team hasnt been in the playoffs long enough that you can start dating someone get married and now have a kid in the 1st grade and still looking for a playoff series..... you dont get discount you over pay

MacKinnon didn't become this Mackinnon until after he signed that 7 year contract.

It wasn't a hometown discount at the time.

In fact prior to that contract, there was a lot of MacKinnon trade talk at that time.
