You can change the coach, the players, the unis , etc. and it just doesn’t matter with the jets. They did something to piss the gods off for all eternity |

So not sure if it could work out with the cap but let’s say the Rangers are in playoff position come March. The Blackhawks look like they are going to be in the bottom of the league. Would it be possibly assuming he waives his NMC to come here, that we go after Patrick Kane to improve the RW position. He has 1 year renaming on his contract after this year. |

His cap hit is astronomical. I would be all for it but I don't see how it fits.
Edit:
It would likely work fine for this year but not next. Who knows? Stranger things have happened. |

Wouldn't that kind of (frank) them with having to address whatever monster deal Fox is going to get? |

Yes. they have Fox, Blais, Strome, Kakko and Georgi or whatever backup goalie they sign to worry about and have $19m in projected space. They have an issue as it currently stands without worrying about Kane |

I am figuring on some retention and/or salary going the other way. It obviously doesn't work without one or both of those things. It likely doesn't work regardless. |

I don’t think we need a top line RW, 2nd line right wing is what I want. Who that is, no clue |

Orrrrrrr….go big or go home…
-Kane
-Toews (both 50% retained is a must tho- would be like 10 mill on the books)
for
Strome lol (only because his salary would have to go)
Kravtsov
#1 pick
————
Before anyone jumps down my throat it’s just an idea we do still need that shutdown center, and faceoff man, and toews wouldn’t even need to score to be a key cog in all of it if he did just that. He’s obviously lost a step or two, but his locker room presence every game would be humongous big |

Kane and Toews both have identical contracts. No way they can fit 10.5 next year with the raises coming down the pipe.

They only have two years left tho. This year it wouldnt be an issue
And if they wouldn’t do half retained it obviously couldn’t happen.
It is a better idea than Eichel haha
Drury has 9 mill is it in cap space this year? He has to use it somehow |

can only realistically use it on rentals for this season only |

But the problem is that even with both retained 50%(probably not going to happen anyway) you end up with a 10.5 hit.
Eichel isn't even an idea anymore, it's borderline impossible with Zib's extension. |

It would be a cool idea without the cap crunch but Fox is going to get paid. He looks unreal out there at times.
Imagine if he wins another Norris trophy? They might have a hard time retaining him. |

To me, if we can only get one..then bigger need is Towes imo. Love Kane don’t get me wrong, but Toews is probably the perfect fit. You figure he would play with goodrow and kreider I guess
Chicago is definitely a good trade partner for one of them, seeing that they’re gonna have to blow it up like we did it looks like
I’ve heard they’re interested in Kravtsov too |

I’m not as worried. He is living his dream playing for the rangers. Players are now taking discounts too. He’d more than willing to do that imo. Zib took a little less then we anticipated I thought

He looks like a video game player at times. He transition's from forward to backward skating like it's a joke to him. He looked like someone spamming L2 the other night. |

I do tend to think that there could be a home town discount involved but who knows? He could have his agent in his ear telling him that on the open market he could be looking at 10+. He might not be so loyal if he gets a monster offer sheet etc. |

That offer may have already been on the table and Fox wants to wait. I'm pretty concerned about it honestly. |

He could also very easily say, give me 3-4 yrs like Lindgren got, for like 6 a year…and then get his 10 mill a year after that deal ends
Honestly. I think that’s what happens. Any other player maybe not, but Fox doesn’t appear to be greedy whatsoever
