I have to admit, after this game, I don't trust the Shanaplan as much as I used to.

I trust it even more.

One doesn't throw in the towel over a garbage game. Everybody takes a beating sometime.

It's six games. I'll save plenty of space on the bandwagon for when the weakhearts are clamouring to jump back on.

I’ve given it some thought, and I’ve decided that…..

I will not give up on Mitch Marner.

Haters can suck it.

Heck ya man, I love it! That’s what I love about diehard Leafs fans. Never throw in the towel!
You should always support your team - it’s the best part of sports. I dig it.

I think some changes are coming your way by Christmas to be honest.

Drunken Canuck / Shady 1962 - I deleted both your posts from earlier.

In short - don’t post comments just to get Leaf fans riled up. Stop trying to circumvent the swear filter.

Either come here and talk hockey and do so in a respectful manner or risk not being able to do so at all.

Thx

I’ll give it 6 more games. Because if they don’t get it going by then the hole will be too deep. I’m shocked at this turn of events.

This team is so screwed, it’s even worse than it looks. There’s zero prospects in the system, and they have a very shaky blue line, the foundation of any good team.

First of all, I don’t have any faith in Dubas to be able to right the ship, and by extension Shanny. I’d even sack Keefe, but I blame him less than the other two. The culture is rotten. They’re too soft, and they don’t play with any heart. So, in order to salvage the season MLSE has to make some major changes. All the problems started when Dubas caved to Nylander’s demands. It set a terrible precedent. Which led to Marner and Matthews demanding more than they deserve. And because of that, they had to let the real heart and soul of the team go. Kadri, Hyman, Freddy were real leaders, they cared.

Idk why it was decided that they had to get Tavares. And why did he have to be captain? What was the rush? The guy is a square, and seems to posses few leadership qualities. Kyle Dubas arrogantly thought he was going to reinvent the way hockey was played and he fell flat on his face. I don’t even want them to make roster changes until he’s gone because he’ll just (frank) it up more.

You’re a better judge of talent than me. I’m absolutely dumbfounded by our start. Marner and Tavares seem like shadows of their former selves. Matthews gets some leeway because he missed camp but there’s no excuse for the rest of them. When young Sandin is our best D we’re in real trouble.

“ Contrary to what most Leafs fans think, Dubas likes Marner a lot more than Nylander. He consistently goes to bat for Mitch, and angrily calls out people who criticize him. I have faith in Dubas for this reason. I think he’s smart enough to move Nylander before a more important part of the core like Rielly or Mitch.”

Don't we want Sandin to look great? The other guys are at best in mid to late prime years and at worst past it. Hes the 1st rounder everyone wanted to see step up to replace Rielly.

Further, whi cares if the vets aren't well into season form. It is a marathon and not a sprint.

6 games and they have 5 pts. They aren't 0 and 6. Could be better but also could be worse.

Marner's comments post game speak volumes. Playing like complete dog poop without a care in the world. A perfect representation of this team in a nutshell. They just don't care. They can't be bothered to put forth the effort necessary to play consistent hockey on a nightly basis.

The next game is really important. Last night's game was just one game. It was a laugher. Everything just fell apart at the same time. The very best teams put in a few bad games like this every year.

So the best thing is to forget about it and move on. Get ready for the next game.

I am inclined to think that last night was likely a bottom for this team, a wake up call and the season will begin to improve.

They don't have to win the next game. But, they need to put in a strong effort and show a compete level commensurate with the talent.
