So, what you are trying to say is that you are looking forward to the next rebuild.

I vote Bedard in '23! My hope is we miss this year, JB gets fired, the new GM cleans house and tanks like a mofo and the NHL finally gives us a lotto win and then build around Bedard as the next Crosby/McDavid

Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and any team looking to take the next step has done it, it's not unique solely to us. That said, those teams have (for the most part) made the playoffs and so they can be forgiven much more easily for the failures they made than JB can because he's been unable to make the playoffs with his core and moves consistently and I maintain that had COVID-19 not shut down the 19-20 season and the bubble put in place with the extra play-in round, we weren't going to make the playoffs that year as we were already on the outside looking in when the league shutdown and trending downwards.

Benning made the playoffs twice as Canuck GM and he's won a series which teams like Toronto can't say they have in forever almost. If they make it this season, his record looks a hell of a lot better and getting closer to .500

I feel like the Canucks are now a team, they just need to gel. Bedard isn't going to solve any issues, but it wouldn't hurt. I see the Canucks having a trajectory like COL. They were expected to do much better but sucked, ended up with Makar, and they haven't looked back since. We are maybe where they were in 2016/2017 - but no teams are alike 1-to-1.

Win the draft lottery.... great strategy. I'm thinking Keno for my next job. Thanks for the inspiration.

A truly brilliant strategy. After 7 years, dump our best assets, tank and win the lottery. I didn’t realize the Sabres GM was a regular poster here

They have what they need right now to make sh!t happen but it will be Green that needs to take the next step and diversify as a coach to get this club to a winning mentality. Not sure Green is that guy. It's going to be an interesting season.

It could happen organically…

Boeser next year (though still an RFA)
Horvat/Miller year after
Pettersson year after that (though still an RFA)

In four seasons this could be Hughes, Höglander and Podkolzin

I think Benning should go first. New GM should make a choice on the coach. Green is not the problem imo. It’s roster construction
- CanuckDon

What if Benning already hired Green's potential replacement in Shaw? Guess he dodges the bullet most likely... or at least until FA sees if there's going to be results.

Shaw needs to roofie Green before a game one night and run the bench.

People with alts have way too much time on their hands. I really wish they would just ban all the second and third accounts, or have Makita put out the list of who is who

- NewYorkNuck

We could make a contest to see who can guess the most correct alts.

I don't want to point out the obvious but we lost to Buffalo Detroit and played even with Chicago for the first period in our last three games. I am not sure where this team is going to finish yet.

We're a bubble team that's likely to miss because the Central is a much better division and is likely to take both WC spots. But hey, go ahead and live in your bubble that previous results mean nothing and that it's too early to make any assessments of the team. If you want to say that we haven't iced out best lineup yet without Sutter, Motte or Hamonic in, then sure, but Motte and Sutter are at best a slight upgrade on Lammikko/Dowling.
