As a terrible goalie I will refer you to the post I quoted with some stats that show Hutch is in fact not a terrible goalie, he makes us sweat and whatnot but he's been pretty good other than the 2019 disaster.
I will not let him be the next Marty Marincin! He can't be!
I just hope the Leafs give him some goal support and play a solid defensive game and get 2 points. - Cush29
Yes I saw the decent stats posted by the terrible goalie about the terrible goalie which don’t change my view. Hutch is a terrible goalie who doesn’t know how to play the position. I trust your eyes and assessment more than I believe in the stats.
my fiancee and I marathoned up to casino royale for now, only skipping never say never again (not an eon film) and die another day (pierce brosnan was wasted on those scripts after goldeneye and we got sick of it).

1: Don't underestimate us at sucking. This year's team is obviously quite good at it.
2: Even if we don't want to, what are the odds we make the playoffs after starting the season 0-5? Might as well raise our odds as much as possible. - Scabeh
6.1% is done - 93.9% of the season is still to be played ffs.

No need to apologize to me, and the sideways conversation / getting personal piece was as much at many not you personally (sorry if that's how it came off - poor delivery on my part). I get the overpayment opinion - it would be nice to have more players take less to play in Toronto but all we have seen on that front is local guys who are near the end (like the simply amazing Spezza) or guys looking to get the exposure and reinvigorate their careers.
I think if they can build a winning culture in the playoffs superstars might be more willing to take a bit less but we are stuck with what we are stuck with and some of the overpayment to Marner is due to him perceiving to get the short end of the stick when he got his deal with Lou and no signing bonus.
As much as hearing how great he is or invaluable drives you bonkers I'm willing to bet hearing how overpaid he is or soft, a playoff dud etc. probably drives others bonkers to the same degree.
Full admission, when it comes to the Leafs I'm always a glass half full of that beautiful Leafy Blue Koolaid and I always will be so I try to see the good in the ugly - I also think if you are a long time Leafs fan you have a lifetime of experience in looking for the good in the ugly. I still remember when winning a series (as in a regular season one) against Montreal was something that was gloatworthy for weeks and weeks over my hab fan friends.
My how times and expectations have changed but I'll take this frustration and heightened expectations over those dark days anytime!

That's fair.
I've always been a glass-is-half-empty kind of Leafs fan. I can be over-critical and take losses a bit stronger than I probably should (passion gonna passion!).
What can I say though? The venting is, in a way, cathartic if not entirely therapeutic. I'm just so used to this team finding newer and more inventive ways to lose and watching the superstars fade when the post-season begins.
Not that I should look past this season but there are going to be serious question marks if this team fails to achieve any playoff success. Do you finally break up the core? Do you re-sign Rielly? What about Campbell?
Man, if they do lose in the first round, it might be an idea to ban my profile throughout the summer as my Marner female doging may be even more unbearable than before.

Could the scheduler have given Montreal an easier start to the season? 2 teams in the first five games made the playoffs last year. None of the next six made the playoffs.

All good lets hope we don't even have to think about anyone complaining about Mitch next summer other than if he should have got to lift the cup before or after Soupy - the world's kindest & loveable goalie (sorry Optimus Reims).

But good stuff all in all - TheMussel
It's funny, I absolutely love Casino Royale but the whole Vesper coda (spoiler: her death and Bond's subsequent revenge sub-plot) felt like it was a flat end to an otherwise pitch perfect movie.
If I was a competent fan editor (I'm not), I'd add that coda to the beginning of Quantum of Solace to give that movie a bit more weight to it. Then again, even with that bit tacked on I don't think Quantum would ever feel more than a Jason Bourne clone. Which is a shame because Bond films should have ample amounts of character and style -- Quantum just feels frustratingly one note.
