Why am I enjoying the Carolina related trolling of the Habs more than the actual Habs season?
- Mashadar

well, Bergevin hinted that he wanted to be back, which would mean Molson is the one who is hesitating and possibly considering other candidates. the discussion should be less about "hey, let's fire MB" and more about "hey, let's hire this guy".
- Pat1993

You know where I stand on the matter.

But not having clarity does not help the Habs properly assess and make moves that are needed to get ready for next year.

There will be trades, deadline and before, for picks (especially the 2022 draft in MTL), and maybe some prospects.

I'd hate for MB to make all those decisions if he is not the guy at the draft and beyond.

If Molson decides he is the guy, then fine. (well, not fine, but you get what I mean).

That simple...

agreed, the decision needs to be taken sooner rather than later. still, people who want Bergevin gone should be talking a lot more about who could potentially replace him, imho.

of course, and I hope that's what they are doing. many excellent candidates, it could take some time.

ok, I guess we don't have the same opinion, I wouldn't necessarily call them "excellent"...

edit: perhaps Mathieu Darche would be the best among these

who already has a job, no? as I mention in my edit Darche could be decent, unlike Damphousse/Brière/Bouchard etc. who don't really have any experience. I know you have to start somewhere, but I think right now they need a guy who really knows what he's doing.

While I agree. I still would rather bring in someone as President of hockey operations, push Molson to the side, and let that person do an extensive overview of the organization.... then put people in place that have a clear direction.

That mean GM, Scouting, Development, Coaching, players... the whole (frank)ing thing.

Top to bottom.

But I am 95% sure MB stays and we get the same poop for a few more years tho.

But hey, maybe we make the playoff in one of those years...

for me yes, and they are both currently employed. I'm not a big fan of the other guys on your list, which is why I find this whole thing a bit worrying.

having a job is not a problem. all these guys can be let go of if they have a chance to become gm elsewhere.
