Confidence is a fragile thing when you can't score. - BashCH
and not scoring at all is a big problem to fix, not like tweaking a penalty kill or something. still, they do have guys with offensive skills, they'll get out of this collective funk at some point
In a normal year it takes 92 points to make the playoffs on the low end (Habs missed recently with 96 points). Starting 0-5 the Habs would need to go 46-31 to hit 92 points from here, 48-29 to hit 96 points.

bah, it's not impossible to come back by all means, but there simply aren't a lot of signs that they'll manage to get things going consistently any time soon.

They essentially need to win two out of every three from here on out to have a chance at the last playoff spot

And what this will bring us?
Same GM, getting eliminated in 4 games…. All the little flags on the cars???
Help us god and let that teams being in last place at Christmas…
Get a new GM, get a new guy in charge of the recruiting, pick the right guy in the top 5 and get back next year with a new philosophy…. And even a new owner… Molson is just not made to own a NHL club…

they didn't necessarily lose the game because of that call, but it was a pretty dumb (frank)ing call - Pat1993
That poop is gonna happen.
Fair call or not... Habs shoulda just rallied around the non-goal, but they looked lost for most of the night, every dump in they tried they pretty much lost possession, were hardly able to make clean passes...
I missed the first 10 mins and did not watch the 3rd, but what I saw was not pretty.
Habs are a bad team and have not played one game where you can say they deserved to win or worked hard for 60 minutes.

simply too fragile for that right now, they needed to have a lead during a game to build upon.

2018-19 was the most recent time the team has a win% >.500. Assuming 92 points will make the playoffs, it is unlikely they will perform at the necessary .597 p%. The playoffs are a long shot unless Covid results in a third consecutive altered playoff format.
I think they have held the lead for under 3 minutes this season. - Mashadar
I definitely don't think there this bad, but you're entitled to your opinion. they haven't been close this year to playing to their potential, so I figure it must be fragility. or lack of focus, or something lol
