I was half asleep watching the game and the only thing I noticed for sure is even with Patrick Kane this team collectively has the worst hands in the league. And that's with a guy with the best hands in the league. Hard to believe. Even tougher to watch. Not trying to kick guys when they're down, but this is brutal.

Danny's a marketing dude at heart, right? He might step in sooner than his predecessor would have simply because he's seeing the empty seats, watching the ticket market plummet, and hearing the boos rain down from a once fiercely loyal fanbase.

I think Jones has come closer to what is expected from him than most of the rest of the team - including Kane and Toews.

It’s also hard for any skater to get positive ratings when the team can’t score even strength goals. Perhaps if the four I noted were doing what they’re supposed to be doing 5x5, Jones would have all of those minuses.

Want a damning comparison of JC's results - Don Granato in Buffalo has very little talent on his roster other than a couple of kids. His best player turned into a massive issue and isn't playing. They are 3-0. They are playing hard and responding to his coaching and encouragement.

No continuing or flow to the offensive side of the puck. No sustainable forecheck and as a whole the team is slow and smallest. They looked slightly better defensively tonight but just ugly up and down the ice imo.

Carpenter had a nice dump and chase place where he beat 2 guys down low to the puck and kept possession and set up a nice extended zone time.

The Team USA Olympic Hockey GM has no other choice than to fire HIS coach.

Somehow a new coach has to get Kane and Toews interested. I thought, Gus on Pp and Kane gets more points. Really Gus is useful as a depth 7th dman for Pp duty. But I prefer using four lines and that player whom sits out if 7 dmen, I really want that forward to contribute on an effective 4th line.

The players get the coach fired. For most part is it the veterans (most of them, anyway) or is it also some younger forwards.

Going forward maybe Bowman shakes up the team if not by trade deadline. Trade Kubalik, Murphy. Toews sits if hus performance is below par.

There needs to be some strong compete guys, like three or four from Rockfird. Enough young guys playing hard, and some veterans better also pllay hard else siit/be traded

Kane is clearly nursing an injury, he’s pulling up a lot. Toews is invisible and I wonder if his groin/back is on fire after not skating for a year, I know those always hurt for me if I go a long time without playing. Connor Murphy had one good play, and then cost us the game with his penalty. He is simply a detriment to the team, not fast enough to chase these guys around in this system, and too uncoordinated/dumb to make the sharp plays in our corners. He’d be a fine bottom pairing guy on a good team. He’s not a top pair or even top four guy. McCabe and de Haan are not far behind on slow/uncoordinated/offensively useless.

The only guy who looks dangerous is Dach. Hagel had many fumbled pucks tonight, but at least he cared. Strome, Johnson, and Gus are the Jaguar cars of hockey… fun idea to think about what they could do, but can’t handle any contact, adversity, or anything but luxury. They are a luxury item on a great team, otherwise completely useless.

Coach has lost the team he never had. Go with Crawford until a good coach gets fired or bring in Bruce or Claude. Hell maybe Toews remembers Q’s system enough to implement a system that works, anything is better than this ‘I know better’ garbage.

they just signed Murphy to an extension and with bowman track record at trading highly doubt anything good would come back. I said it before by Thanksgiving if hawks Do not turn it around then Danny Wirtz needs to fire both bowman and Colliton will it happen doubtful.

No, you’re the one getting bent. I never once stated the reason the hawks failed was because of him. Seth Jones was a horrible decision to make him our #1 dman. I believe I have been carrying that narrative since he was trade to us.

Kane is still playing with an injury from last season. Don’t you remember.

Toews will probably never be himself again.

Lastly, as I explained in the previous post (should be directly above this one) I don’t blame Jones for the teams disastrous start but we were better last year without him. Also, his constant failing was not worth the trade which analytics clearly stated.

While the team's a mess right now it's apples to oranges. You're taking a 6 game sample size and comparing it to an 82 game one where there were stretches of both good play and bad.

Idk but that's why they play them. Also not sure how much worse things have to get but in the Athletic it sounds like Stan has no intention of moving on from JC unless things get really bad.

They're a big reason. They're also not playing up to snuff, playing through injury, working into game shape, whatever.

At the beginning of the season I doubt you would have predicted the start they've had.

Most of us penciled Kane and Toews into the top 6 out of habit but currently they have maybe two guys looking like top 6 players...maybe one.
