None in the first 2 periods, only 1 had an effect on the game (Dach’s against NJD that goes them within 1).

Toews without a point, Kane with 1 goal on the PP, only 1 assist 5x5.

Kubalik -0- points 5x5. AdB -0- points 5x5.

This year same….pp is their offense. Something 5 on 5 is totally wrong.

People can debate systems or structure all day long but the proof is there….all these stats geeks can’t hide the lack of 5 on 5 goals. Blame structure. Transition. Passes. Battles. Effort. Shaver. This team can’t score unless they have an advantage.

When your defense puts a defenseman in a forwards position and he's one of the 3 players going the other way, it hurts your transition game. It hurt it all night

Want a damning comparison of JC's results - Don Granato in Buffalo has very little talent on his roster other than a couple of kids. His best player turned into a massive issue and isn't playing. They are 3-0. They are playing hard and responding to his coaching and encouragement.

If his injury is still impacting him significantly (and I hope that is what is behind his largely lackluster season so far), and it's something that surgery would fix, he might want to take that time now.

No continuing or flow to the offensive side of the puck. No sustainable forecheck and as a whole the team is slow and smallest. They looked slightly better defensively tonight but just ugly up and down the ice imo.
