Ok, not trying to argue as much as understand... I was incredibly pessimistic about this team going in and they've lived up to my expectations so I've got to ask, what evidence or reason can you give to suggest this team can get their poop together? They won't magically get more talented and that is by far the biggest issue. The reason I'm at peace with it was because before the season I viewed this team as hot garbage and all they've done is live up to my expectations.

oh, like I said it seems rather unlikely right now, and nothing indicates they're gonna get it going in the right direction again, but I don't think it seemed very likely that they'd reach the finals once the playoffs had started either. not necessarily comparing both situations, just saying sometimes unexpected things do happen. anyway I'll stop referring to this silly kind of hope because I know it's futile and unrealistic right now lol

The playoffs were unlikely but it's easier to catch lightning in a bottle as they say when playing against only one team and in the small sample size of the playoffs. Doing it over 82 games of a regular season with a roster that is markedly worse than the roster last year that really only made the playoffs by the skin of their nuts because Vancouver almost died of covid...this comeuppance wasn't hard to predict

things can change. hockey is so weird. the flyers had a 10 game losing streak and made the playoffs once and the next year had a 10 game winning streak and missed. the season is so long and so much can happen.

I wouldn't panic just yet. You have a bunch of guys who are proven NHL scorers who haven't scored yet like Anderson, Toffoli, Gallagher, Dvorak and Hoffman. Suzuki has too much talent not to break out and Caulfield although very young has a wicked release and will figure out how to get open in the NHL eventually.
Every team goes through slumps, yours just happens to be at the start of the season.

as I said, I wasn't trying to compare both situations, I just find them to be equally unlikely. and while a lot of people had the habs missing the playoffs this year, I don't think many had expected things to be this bad.

Facebook is planning to rebrand itself with a new name focused on the metaverse, the Verge reported on Tuesday, as the tech giant comes under fire from regulators around the world over its business practices.
