Essentially boiling down to what would be acceptable if you worked in an office somewhere or a high end fashion - Dozzer
Basically, which I am all for.
Its great for the kids too. No need to buy that expensive suit anymore, go get some affordable fashionable clothes and express yourself.
I never was for the fact you had to wear the exact same thing as everyone else to fit in and belong...it’s a little (frank)ed up when you think about it. Dress up and go to the game, that’s all it should be. |

I was never against the idea of a suit because the player was always allowed to choose the suit they wanted to wear. However things are different these days and the NHL can’t be the only pro sports league to demand it. There will still be players who like it and players who maybe try and take it too far when it comes to dressing more relaxed will likely hear it from their coaches, management, and other players privately as well |

Let them wear whatever they want. Everybody complains about how NHL players have no personality but we still want to put them into some box. They’re going to dress up in their own way and if anyone is too slobby, the team and not management or the league will take care of it. They don’t work in an office and they usually enter the arena through the basement but they’ll style in their own way. |

Just looked it up and sideburns are actually considered facial hair as well

"respect for the game"
ffs anyone mad about this just can't handle any sort of change. - Santo_44
"Respect for the game" is silly but "respect for the organization and representing yourself as a professional" is absolutely reasonable.
I dunno, I kind of feel like the #getoffmylawn grandpa types aren't much of a voice per fashion etiquette.
This sounds like a lot of manufactured angst. |

Mike Augello: Shesterkin shuts down Matthews, Leafs; Robertson injured again - mikeinbuffalo
is it too early to start discussing next season?🤦♂️
the clock is ticking for buston so mlse had better come up with a better plan beyond overpaying greedy little pencil neck female dog and his daddy🤦🏿♂️
for decades, the bottom line for mlse has counted on a few playoff games as their measure for success🤦♂️
the stanley cup is just an afterthought if that🤦🏿♂️
oh well, i guess that i’ll just keep buying my leaf nation merch and keep waiting🤦♂️
what a (frank)ing joke🤦🏿♂️
edit: nice alliteration 👍 |

I don't mind (really, it's that I don't care) about dress codes to come to the game. Dressy casual is fine.
What I find incredibly stupid is a dress code for flying home after the game. Apparently guys would take off their suits once they board, change into track suits, and then switch back afterwards.
I know it's a small thing, but why not let your guys be as comfortable as possible when travelling back from a game? |

To be fair, this is the way things have been for decades. I find it hilarious just how passionate people are to cry about the dress code being absurd as those who cry about needing to maintain the existing, archaic fashion paradigm.
Part of me is like, "I don't give a (frank) about these pampered millionaires." Another part of me is like, "I don't give a (frank) what they wear as long as its the correct uniform while on the ice."

I had this exact convo on Sunday about music when we were on the course.
I'm not one for music really, I find it distracting if I'm teeing up, and I've always enjoyed getting away from all things electronic and just enjoying a peaceful time with some buds outdoors.
But if you're rocking a best ball tournament where beers are going down like water and half the people have only swung a club half a dozen times in their life, I really don't care if there's music or not.
Stuffy golf traditions are just covert classism. - TheMussel
It's people playing music or watching tv in public spaces without earbuds that drives me insane. Especially in a nature area. I think people that don't have the sense to use headphones shouldn't be allowed to have phones. |

Actually I completely understand it...Hockey organizations doing this is a huge step to other companies following suit. Hockey has been dominated by the old white men types(Don Cherry) for years and to make this sort of change is a big step.
We are coming into an age where self expression has proved to be important.

People realize that dressing up 12 year olds in a shirt & tie for hockey games just perpetuates assimilation and suppression of personality, right?
Totally agree with this. "its been like that for years" just tells me you don't care which is perfectly fine. There are many who clearly do and its why we are seeing change. It's nice to see. |

So Keefe confirmed Hutchinson is getting one of the starts this weekend, hopefully it’s against the sharks and not the Penguins I guess.
But who knows? Hopefully he plays at least half decent |
