I love all the old school guys getting angry at the dress code - Santo_44
It's one of those things where I feel, as a professional, you should be wearing something that looks like you give a poop about your appearance.
For example, I can't saunter into my office wearing ripped jeans, a backwards hat, and hoodie.
AM34 is a good example of someone who cares a lot about fashion - it's non-traditional and unique - and he should absolutely be allowed to express that. I really feel like the Leafs need to address this: feel free to express yourself but look sharp, ffs.

I think it will be Hill against the Leafs. Reimer's been on how many teams since the Leafs? - winsix
Only 3, the leafs traded him to San Jose, then he played in Florida and Carolina and now he’s back with the sharks |

I feel they should still look respectable just the whole shirt and tie thing can die for pro athletes.

Hopefully.
It would be nice if we could get a steal or two in a draft.

I once was sponsoring a golf tournament and this guy complained to me at the hole I was at that the group in front was playing music through bluetooth. He thought it sullied the game/tournament (fun, nothing charity tournament)....yet was wearing blue jeans and a black t-shirt. - Aaron_85
I had this exact convo on Sunday about music when we were on the course.
I'm not one for music really, I find it distracting if I'm teeing up, and I've always enjoyed getting away from all things electronic and just enjoying a peaceful time with some buds outdoors.
But if you're rocking a best ball tournament where beers are going down like water and half the people have only swung a club half a dozen times in their life, I really don't care if there's music or not.
Stuffy golf traditions are just covert classism. |

I thought that's what the new "rules" essentially did?
My understanding was that these guys just didn't want to have to wear a full blown suit everyday.

Right. I get that too. I wouldn't want it when I'm teeing off but man, people can have fun.
I feel that this type of mentality keeps the games (any sport) from growing.

Losing to a zamboni driver is really a machiavellian level of cruelty and misfortune. - TheMussel
Very true but the further it gets in the rear view mirror the pain is less and the humor is greater. It was a meaningless game, neither team won the cup - who the (frank) cares?

Hey Fellers. Hope everyone is doing well in here.
Looking forward to fleecing Kyle at the Deadline for Morgan. That darned cap will be demise of Dubas. - DrunkenCanuck
Yeah, it’s the team that’s out of the playoffs that trades away players at the deadline. Rielly’s not getting traded, much to the annoyance of many here. |

On a tangent, I heard Burkie interviewed the other day. I was impressed when they brought up Teddy Bluegger (sp?)m guy from Latvia and Burke just started going on about how smart he was, and his wife got her degree in forestry from UBC (a tough degree his said) in English. You could tell he was really proud of the guy who got his degree while play and his wife. - Canada Cup

The leafs changed it to business casual at the very least
So yeah they still need to look good but it doesn’t have to be the suit if the player doesn’t want to, however not whatever they want either. |

Read an article over the offseason that he is legit and could be an NHL talent.
Would be nice to have him as an option if they have to choose between Mrazek and Soup next season. |

Probably not as long as Boudreau's coma. - Monkeypunk
Boudreau could surprise. The guy was an absolute stud of an athlete in high school. I played in a golf tournament and was in his foursome and he was drilling 300 Yard drives.

They just have to be fashionable...which is subjective. They basically can wear whatever they want besides jeans and sweats/hoodies. |

I think they should put Lou in charge of establishing and enforcing a league wide dress code. #louisgod |

Fashion is subjective, looking sharp is different for everyone. The programming that suits are the only professional look out there is outdated...I get its the way it was before but its just not anymore. |
