Nope he hasn't to be honest. Part of me wonders if he is just playing for the $$$ at this point. It was fairly well known he wanted to go back to Pittsburgh and even delayed his decision to come to Chicago. Hawks didn't do their due diligence on this guy I think. - kwolf68
I get why you may think that, but it doesn't match with what they say about MAF as a person. He is a pro and I don't think he is phoning it in. |

This team stinks. Colliton has to go.
Kane and Toews aren't the problems, but 20mm is a lot to have tied up in two players that aren't looking like part of the solution.
Kane looks like a guy, and Toews looks like he hasn't played for 400 days... - Fat_Tony_Amonte
Kaner looks disinterested. On the third goal Kaner didn’t even come close to try to block the shot for a goal….instead he ducked. It’s sad to see Tows on the ice struggling. The coach and GM should be given the pink slip. |

This team has enough talent to be competitive. Good coaches have done more with less.
good coaches. - Fat_Tony_Amonte
I only watched part of the lanche game, watched Pitt and this game. Of all those games I can say there were about 7 minutes of hockey I truly enjoyed. This team, right now, is hideous. If that is because coaching then Bowman needs to cut bait, but remember Bowman is the guy who hired this joker to begin with. Who is next in his rolodex? |

Hey Wolfman. That would be extremely lucky as Fleury hasn't really looked all that great either. - HawkintheD
Fleury is what he is
He's a .905-908% guy by seasons end. He'll get shutouts/steal a few but his biggest asset is his locker room presence. If you expect more, I think that's on you for believing the hype. (Not saying you do)

Man, get off the ledge. I get that they haven't played well to start the year, but tonight they were noticeably better. - breadbag
Some loser talk right there bread.
Hawks haven't had a lead in the first 4 games to start this year.
They have been outscored even strength 17 to 3.
They are bad defensively and they have been bad for years.
It's completely fair to say they are awful at this point. |

No he has always been known as a class guy, but a guy at the end of his career, some guys lose their skills, others lose that inner drive. It doesn't mean MAF is a bad guy, but maybe he has lost that inner drive. Honestly, he looks like he fits in just fine with this team, disengaged and disinterested.

So what are the Hawks 5x5 stats now? Have they entered the 3rd quadrant on the graph yet? |

Man, get off the ledge. I get that they haven't played well to start the year, but tonight they were noticeably better. A few breakdowns but their goaltending has been pretty meh. MAF should have had 2 of the 4. At some point a team needs their goalie to make a big save. The Isles got it on their end, Hawks not so much tonight. - breadbag Keep drinking the koolaid !

Certainly not like the Vezina winner they thought they were getting. Sorokin kept his team in the game early and you could kind of feel the wind go out of the sails when the Isles were able to pot the first one. One goal shouldn't feel insurmountable but pretty much does with this team right now.

Common guys they played a solid 40 minutes, you can't expect them from being so irresponsible defensively to putting together a solid 60 minutes.

Sorry but in all due respect you are delusional
Team is slow - week on the puck & lacks skill
Next 10 days
- JC will be gone & will not ever coach again in the NHL
- Strome will be traded
& SB may or may not be fired ? |

I get that you are frustrated, but the loser talk is to whine about it. Tonight they won a lot of battles, moved the puck up the middle really well and had chances but could not convert. They lost the game, but they played better than the score would indicate. 100% the players and coaches will take the positives to build off of and look forward to the next one. |

Other than a couple shots, I didn't see any real amazing chances. But yea, the goalies job is to keep the pucks out the net and the Islanders guy did that in the first.
There is nothing going for this team right now. There have been teams in the past that were DOA after 15 games and came back to do great things, so who knows.

If your idea of success is winning a few shifts, having a couple decent neutral zone transitions then we're already beaten. LOL. The team got worked again. After the 1st the Hawks sucked. |
