Yandle in the long run is going to hurt you if he has to play more then 8 tp 10 minutes a night. He is slow and not good in the dzone..This was the Kraken folks lets see how guys like Brassard and Yandle do in stretches vs good teams. Boston and Florida coming up that will tell us a lot more.

Curiously silent on TK this morning.

He’s created a bunch of scoring chances, they’ve cashed in on them too. Great play to TK last night and he had a great hold and fake to get the puck to Coots I believe on the third goal in Vancouver. He does look like he’s going to fall over at times tho, bad passes come with the territory too
- ClaudeFather

He's definitely done some good things, he just looked a bit more authoritative in the preseason.

When Hayes comes back into the lineup, Laughts moves to the 4th line. I think NAK and Willman get sent down, and you then you have Brown/Laughts/MacEwen/Thompson on your 4th line depending on matchups.
- jd250

Having those rotating players on the 4th line will come in handy with the condensed schedule.

One thing that never grows old with me is hearing that bell ring when a fight breaks out. I hope to hear it a lot this season!

My friend and I were texting about the need for the fights last night. He's point was it was 5-0, etc... No need. My point was that it was a new group of guys, that it was nice seeing them come together. Although, I don't necessarily think this should occur all season. Sure, if somebody jumps Giroux... But, no fights for the sake of fights. I think last night fight's were 'organic' in nature - needed.

Everyone on this board takes their shot in terms of what they think this team should do or what should happen next. I thought Tyson Foerster had a good shot of making the team when the injuries began to pile up during camp. I believed Patrick should have a stronger season with Vegas after getting one season under his belt. Both guesses are not aging well.

In terms of strong stances. The Hayes contract and how his production will never live up. Frost being taking way too long as we give him every opportunity healthy or not. I have to stand by these.

The argument of Scott Laughton being solid as a third line center or being better than Brassard. This is another strong stance of mine. I feel like JvR needs to be apart of that top 6 mix of forwards and since the 2020 playoffs, JvR has been weighed down when placed with Laughton. For me it’s either third line winger for Laughton or fourth line center. Brassard is more talented than Laughton in my opinion.

- SuperSchennBros

I think when Laughton is on he will do well with JVR but I do think Brassards skill set is better suited for 3C. I like Laughton more on the wing

I'm looking forward to Wednesday game. Should be a good test. I like what I'm seeing. The second period of game one had a last season feel to it. Last night's game had a pre pandemic feel to it.
I can't wait for Risto to play. They scrapped hard last night. It was good to see them stick up for each other. I'm liking Atkinson and that whole line. Ellis is as advertised and make Provey sòooooo much better. Coots line was hot, TK and G on fire. Coots steady as always.
Hart played really well.
I'm (frank)ing excited for games. They are fun again.
At the red of the day, it's entertainment. They are entertaining! Should be a fun year.

- jaws1955

Yandle had a very deft touch pass on the TK goal and Atkinson put that shot perfectly off the pad, right to PhillyJoel that kid can finish.

I do not see them waiving NAK to keep Brown and or MacEwen.

Willman and Brown I believe get sent down.

Perhaps I'm mixing up some rule with claiming players on waivers, but doesn't a player have to stick with the big club for a certain amount of games or period of time before they're eligible for waivers? I do suppose it's possible that amount of games until Hayes returns

5-0 is when you fight, 2-0 is when you hope the guy on your team turns it down if you are the team that is up.

What Seeler did and what Thompson did helps build the “team”. You can’t have guys like G. Konecny and Farabee being run without a response. Yes the game has changed…but it’s still hockey.

I thought when G recovered from his core issue, he wasn't the same all year. Hopefully Hayes comes back strong. Brassard has been ok, but don't want him playing 2C all year.
- bradster

Hayes may not be near 99% till late January if there are no setbacks again.
There is a reason it is called your CORE as it supports everything.

I thought Willman played well. I like NAK play as well - if he can play the edge and keep the penalties low. Both have an opportunity to solidify a spot if they play well. Also, Wade Allison coming back may push another to the crowded fourth line - JVR, if he doesn't start scoring?

1st: 28 Claude Giroux - 14 Sean Couturier - 11 Travis Konecny
2nd: 86 Joel Farabee - 13 Kevin Hayes - 25 James van Riemsdyk/ 57 Wade Allison
3rd: 23 Oskar Lindblom - 19 Derick Brassard - 89 Cam Atkinson
4th: Brown/Laughton/MacEwen/Thompson/Willman/Nicolas Aube-Kubel

It's called playmaking. And just because you can't see the seam or the play from your sofa, doesn't mean the pass was stupid.

Amazing how SofaGMs see the game so much better then someone skating at breakneck speed.

5-0... In mid-season and your doing well. There is no need to fight, unless they jump your captain, illegal hit, etc. Or, you just want to fight.

If you're down 0-5... Sure, fight show the fans that you're alive.

6 goals was nice to see, but it was the Kracken. Let's see what happens on Wed vs Boston. I'm liking the shoot first attitude so far. Much better than over passing the puck and trying impossible passes. Good bounce back by Hart. The PK was 4 for 4 so that was good, but the PP must get going this year. Looking forward to Wednesday's game...

Two points in the book. Would you criticize the Flyers if they took the Kracken lightly and lost? So then we give them credit for taking care of business. There is lot they can take and build on from that game.

correct they get first dibs. Despite not being a NAK fan I keep him over Brown.

As far as playing a certain amount of games that I am not sure of.
