the theme that I have been noticing, is that we have been so charmin soft for the last decade, that when we get a player who is gritty, we worship the ground he walks on. We then get another player who is gritty, and we start to think that one player is expendable, but the reality is, we need way more players who are gritty than just a couple. If its about building a new culture, then it can't just be one or two players.

We need more Millers/Garlands/Hoglanders, not less. I want teams to hate the Canucks every single night much like Detroit did last game.

I don't care about his disposition . I care about when he gives up on plays and his turnovers. He is also very predictable on the PP. I would even be willing to wager that his next PP his first pass will be to Hughes and he will pass to Hughes at least four more times in his 90 second time on ice.

Fans are used to quiet good boys on the ice. Like the Sedins and now horvat who they mentored. Miller is different, he is loud and hates losing. I don’t see a problem with it. Elia’s is similar in a way

I'm fine with loud and hating losing, I'm not fine with loud, hating losing and blaming his teammates for what he does himself. EP40 at least goes out and gives 110% every shift where Miller is lucky if he gives 50%.

It was dbot who had the insatiable man-crush on E. Kane.

Good memory.
I do have a penchant for the power forward type and was keen to sign him when he was a UFA.

Safe to say since then the man crush has been satiated.

Which is why players like Garland and Hoglander are quickly becoming fan favourites.

PP has been stale and predictable for 2 years now. Giving up on plays is one thing, but its hard to argue that anyone on that first unit PP has been good or unpredictable.

Hopefully Boeser and Petey can open things up on PP1.
If petey can put it on net…

True, Garland, OEL, Hoglander and Podz are players you can build around and expect to play hard and not give up on plays or pout when things don't go their way. There was a reason TB dumped Miller instead of keeping him, they probably saw what we see now in him.

With some clarity on Hamonic, whose salary won’t count against the Canucks cap while he’s on leave, GM Jim Benning says he is happy with what he has seen from Myers, Poolman and Burroughs the first 3 games. Doesn’t see a need at this point to spend on another RD.

It appears cap space wasn’t an issue after all 😳

I don't /didn't see a need to go and look . I don't think this year is a deep run year (bubble team) so I would look this year and see who will be here long term. I like Burroughs and Poolman.

I don't even think we're a bubble team, it's just that the rest of the Pacific with the exception of Vegas sucks big fat hairy donkey balls. The Central will likely lock up the 2 WC spots so we have to be at least top 3 in the Pacific to make the playoffs and I'm not so certain we're a top 3 team in the division.

I think they will be in the mix. Vegas and Oilers prob going to make it....so we have to beat out...

Ducks
Flames
LA
Sharks
Seattle

None of those teams are clearly better than Cancuks

I was hoping Brady Keeper was going to push for a spot this year.

They die after spawning. You can put it back but going to make no difference to the population. That things is what we call "a boot".

They took the eggs and milt from 40 males and 40 females on the 1st day.
