Canucks possession numbers took a massive nose dive without Hughes in the line up. It was only 45% after 2 periods.

I'm glad I had to go out, were there any moral victories though?

This praise for three 'scoring' lines needs to end. Even Hirsch praised it at games start. You don't take Miller (the teams leading scorer lol) and have him centre the kids on the 3rd line. The whole point of Richardinson was to get that third line rolling. Creat space for Hogs and Pods if that was the case. But Green has them all over the place the TSN monkey could coach this club right now...

Maggie died or she would have replaced Green by now.

For the Canucks to lose back to back games to Det and Buf.
- manvanfan

It is a long road trip to start the season with many new faces, player holdouts etc.

I'm not defending them, but we'll have the first idea of what this team is by Nov 9th provided they stay relatively healthy. All teams suffer injuries.

The problem is that there is nothing to show that things will turn around. They aren't playing good and losing. They are losing and they don't look the better team.

I wonder if the line up plan for the Hawks game is to take the most productive player off the top 3 lines and make a 4rth line out of them.

I had a pretty good friend that played in the NHL. As an undersized player he said the hardest thing was maintaining weight. He still weighed in over 190 but he played D back then.

I'm sure Green will make the necessary adjustments after tonight's game.

Road trips to start the season are always tough.

I'm sure Bettman had no involvement in the 6 game road trip for the Nucks to start the year...

They look a little discombobulated. They also look like they have less energy. There are many new players and they're traveling. Again, i'm not defending the team i'm offering reason for it. It's October 19th, November 9th isn't far away to make your first determination......unless there's a bang up coach ready to take over.

Maybe Babcock could get something out of them.

I had a guy in my graduating class get drafted by Vancouver. Funny story. He was drafted and roommates with prab rai during rookie camp. He then made it to main Camp. He decided not to attend an optional morning skate/practice. The next regular practice, he was pulled off the ice and Gillis told to pack his poop, cause his camp was over early. He was never going to make it anyway, but it just goes to show how one lazy day was all she wrote for his career.

More discussion on the puck possession numbers in this game and the previous 3 games. With Hughes, team lead in puck possession 3 games. This game without him, team was only 46%. Previous games he lead all skaters in possession and the team had the top 5 players for possession in those games... not tonight.

Ruby likes to poop on QH about his turn overs etc but this team is chasing pucks most of the time without QH in the line up.

I don't know about that.

Outside of TO Babcock was a pretty good coach. Even in TO, he coached a 3rd place team in that division. Tampa and Boston.....

I'm not saying he's necessarily the answer but a proven winning coach that might light a fire under the team should be in strong consideration if we look bad by Nov 9th.

As I said earlier, no more than a 2 year deal. That way your new GM isn't married to the coach if you need to make further changes.

It's like it was a test for who wanted it more. Like you said, never going to make it so you weed it out by desire. It makes up for a lot of skill.

It was so odd. He was cut from Junior A for being too short and small. All his friends who made the team didn't end up getting drafted at all. He finally gets drafted after such hard work and loses it all in being lazy one morning.
